@RocketShift Gaming you can still hear start of it. yes its more smooth that before. Engine starts are the most stressful thing engine experiences – I”m very concerned on long term reliability of this setup with its very aggressive/frequent stops/starts when in stop and go traffic.

@kgbman I completely agree. Volvo should have kept the option to turn the feature off

@J Bob Yes, the 2022 feels normal. The 2023 was way different for whatever reason.

They warn you about the stiff braking–does take some getting used to–reason for that is explained as a “regenerative function” for the ‘ISG’ system.

Idk if it’s just me but my ideal pedal is soft and squishy in the top half or 70 percent and then bites hard in the last of it because I like longer softer stops and it makes it easy. However, They need to be confidence inspiring in that last 30%. It needs comfort/usability

      The auto-brake stops you dead.

Nice review. You are talking in uzi shooting pace dude. Couldn’t keep up with you sometime. Brake feeling aside, this would be the car for me if it only had the steering gear shift paddles that the 2018 models had. Really a disappointment and deal breaker for me.

Hi, I own a 2018 XC60 which I do like. Do you think I would be happy with the XC40?
    Thanks! Great video btw.

Can the regenerative braking be adjusted to firm up the pedal pressure?
