@@jomo2483 now that EVs are on a par with BMW engines in terms of power and acceleration and the fact that BYD are competing with German manufacturers and beating them on price..what does BMW do? I:ncreases prices drastically and lowers the quality of their interiors. You seriously have to wonder what they were thinking…they’re no longer prestigious and my last 4 cars have been BMW 5 series etc. Next car is a Sealion 7 as for 48K BMW have nothing to compete with it in that price range and ytou’re talking 70k euros before they start beating it in space and refinement. That’s a massive difference.

I am glad there is a French take on a luxury car, and this looks well executed. It also shows up the Germans on price. Sadly I just do not want to drive one.

Given luxury a go…a bit like the new BMW x3, Audi Q5 which have also turned into scratchy plastic paradises. I bet the interior is now on a par with those or better in some places.

In terms of how it looks, it’s miles ahead of either. The new X3’s interior doesn’t just feel cheap, but looks it too, and the least said about Audi’s latest interior design scheme the better.

I get annoyed with car manufacturers with interiors. There’s no reason why all cars can’t have a decent looking interior, it’s all just plastic and steel after all so it’s just a matter of design. Yet they insist on giving you as little as possible until you get over the £50k mark, and even then, like we see here, there’s a lot of cheap stuff. My Evoque is smaller but cost a lot less and is far better inside than this is,

21:11 “… you probably see them in France, and in Europe, a little bit more often but in Uk …”

I hear this more and more from UK journalists, is that how British people talk nowadays?

To me that is really strange. At least last time I checked, UK was still part of (the continent) Europe even though they have left EU (economic and political union).

Why such a need to create a distance? Somewhat similar to certain dominant leaders who rename things on maps after their own head.

I really would like to understand. It might “just be how we speak” but these days these things are more important then ever. We don’t need more distancing, we need to feel that we are together.

The more powerful AWD version she is driving is NOT rated at 466 for the range, it’s something like 414 from memory. The 466 range car is the larger battery FWD car. Therefore the 360 range she calslculates is not too far off the stated official range.

Er, 466 miles is the long range FWD version, if you were in the AWD version surely the WLTP was 407 miles? So 349 makes more sense, roughly 86% of WLTP (which isn’t bad…)
