Could this be the perfect family EV? | New Skoda Peaq FIRST LOOK

There haven't been enough electrical seven-seaters. For years, if you wanted a useful family EV with seven seats, your options were surprisingly restricted.
Now Skoda is finally signing up with the celebration with the all-new Peaq– its biggest electrical car yet, providing to seven seats, more than 370 miles of declared range and a substantial focus on usefulness.
However has Skoda left it too late? The Peugeot E-5008 has already developed itself as one of our preferred family EVs, while the new electric Mercedes GLB is forming up to be a serious rival.
In this first walkaround, Nicola takes a detailed look around the new Skoda Peaq to see whether it has what it takes to become the go-to electric family SUV.
Key specs:
– Variety: up to 373 miles (WLTP).
– Battery: 63kWh or 91kWh.
– Power: 204hp to 299hp.
– Seating: Five or seven seats.
– Boot area: 299 litres (7 seats up), 890 litres (5 seats up).
– Frunk: 37 litres.
– Price: expected โ‚ค 48,000– โ‚ค 56,000.
The Peaq is Skoda's new electrical flagship, based upon the Vision 7S idea and determining practically 4.9 metres long. It becomes the biggest EV in the Skoda variety and offers both five- and seven-seat designs, with as much as 935 litres of luggage space in five-seat type. Skoda claims over 600km (373 miles) of range from the larger battery versions.
What do you believe? Has Skoda developed the ideal household EV, or would you still select the Peugeot E-5008, Mercedes GLB Electric, Kia EV9 or Hyundai Ioniq 9?

Ironic that Skoda is more competent than VW in terms of their electric lineup

That’s not ironic. It was right from the start like that. There is only one reason Skoda has no ID3. Because if the did a car in that size nobody, simply nobody would have bought the ID3. The Enyaq was right from the start the best EV VW made. And it still is (or the Elroq if you like it a bit shorter)

That’s what I thought, too. Probably because that color is similar to the one most often promoted on Grandland.

As a child from the 90’s to think Skoda would be the best of the VW group, it still makes my mind ๐Ÿคฏ haha, well done Skoda, not cheap by any means, but again showing many others how it should be done.

@harrymc523 Well said! Being a “premium” car brand nowadays isn’t all that easy as these mid tier car brands are closing the gap a lot, especially with their EV line ups… free market competition is once again good for us, the customers… Well, technically it would have to be open for chinese car brands too w/o the heavy taxes on the imports for it to be completely free market, but that would most likely destroy european brands because of how aggressively priced the chinese cars are. Hoping to see a driving review of this car soon!

    great job Skoda.
FINALLY someone created space for a boot cover in a smart place. I love it! I would like to meet the author of the idea of two SUPER large buttons to change the the temperature by .5c, but heating and ventilation for the seats is still on the screen. why oh why?
I love 40/20/40 split of the bench. This is the absolutely best entry config. I have the option to carry snowboards or sails, but during the week, I don’t have things flying into the cabin (like in case of captain’s chairs).
Do we have vents for the third row?
