Volvo’s First Ground Up EV Is The XC90 Reincarnated As The 2024 EX90!

Volvo has perhaps made more development towards complete electrification than any other traditional cars and truck business, however in normal Swedish fashion they are tackling it in a very pragmatic method with a host of hybrids, plug in hybrids, converted ICE EVs and now full ground up styles beginning with their popular 3-row people hauler. For 2024 the XC90 isn't going away, it'll still be there for folks that desire a HEV or PHEV, but for people prepared to end on gas [see what I did there?] there's a EX90 for you!

Instead child booster why not adjust belt top lower ? No rear buckets ?

The lap belt wouldn’t move and the intent is also to lift the child’s view up so they are happier being in the car,.

Beautiful. My dream car is a Rivian R1S but this definitely is going to stay on my watchlist. Unfortunately it seems it will be a while before we get a true seven seater EV under $60,000

Ev9 will be announced next week.

We need a true 7 seater like a Traverse. This and the EV9 are shorter and have less room behind the third row with the seats up.

It will likely be able to use Superchargers in the near future.

There are over a dozen American fast charging networks compromising 10s of ks of dc fast chargers. Over a million level 2 chargers at hotels/motels/resorts etc.

I’d take a rear wiper on this shape vehicle over the viagra infused door handles.

Do all the handles always pop out, regardless of which door you’re getting into (presumably driver)? That’s a little too inviting for solo trips.

Is this a re-up load? So many scenes here look familiar.

Yes, he posted this exact video on the Alex channel about 2 weeks ago. So, that shows you how EV buyers rate.

It’s a beauty. Volvo will also be early in doing a proper 3 row. Depending on the price, this should sell.

You posted this exact same video on the Alex channel 2 weeks ago. So, either have an EV channel or don’t. Frankly, Scarlett, I don’t give a damn. But if you have an EV channel, shouldn’t this content have appeared there first, not two weeks later? Wondering in Wisconsin.

Sorry to mention that but this is a Geely disguised as Volvo. Besides in China premium cars have LiDAR as standard, so nothing new as a technology. Alex should watch more Chinese car news to be better prepared for the videos.

Game changer. Beautiful EV that is super practical too. I suspect it will be seen in suburbia a lot in the coming years. Thx for the vid and the pro content.

Volvo current 2023 C40 & XC40 recharge battery preconditioning using the in car route planning work so well a long distance race between a Hyundai Ionic 5 and Volvo Xc40 recharge, could have been the C40, the Volvo won the race by about 5 minutes and without any special changes done on the in car routing. In car trip planning on the Ioniq 5 was more or less a disaster!

For those who don’t necessarily need a three row SUV. I wonder if there is going to be an EX 60 announced anytime soon.

You’re forgetting (or ignoring) the Rivian R1S as a logical 3-row electric competitor to the EX90. For price and features I think the R1S dual motor is a more direct competitor to the EX90 than the others you mention: the Model X and EQS SUV. Both of those will be significantly more costly than either the dual-motor R1S or EX90. How do keep forgetting to mention Rivian as a competitor?

      R1S have very poor availability.

Volvo and Range Rover design aesthetics are so sophisticated, serene and elegant. Especially the interiors. They make anything from the German marques look positively vulgar by comparison.
