Agreed. I use Gyeon wax on my old C30 and it lasts 12-18 months between applications – seriously cheaper than ceramic coating.

Is there any scientific evidence to go with this or is it snake oil. My 108k subscribers are asking.

I’m gonna do this! My Gary Fisher is cleaned and ready for ceramic. Meanwhile, I’ve got a lot of washing to do on my Trek mountain bikes; they’re always filthy. Mahalo for this bit of demonstration and inspiration!👍

The time it took to take the wheel off and drive there and back you could have done this yourself in half the time ! Hardly rocket science ! This is the simplest form of cleaning and applying ! There loads of great videos on YouTube that show you how easy it is to apply ceramic coating ! Forensic Detailing to start with ! ❤

Did I see the ceramic gunk being put on the front suspension stanchions (and by inference, the shock piston)? I certainly saw the pink duster contaminated with the product being used to do that. Their website says for this product, “Use Wax is Dead® Cleaner on all surfaces.” But I’m certain nobody would put it on the brake pads, for example, despite that advice. On high-end suspension as used on the Trek Rail 9, the surface of the stanchions and the shock piston have been researched ad infinity to reduce a thing called ‘stiction’. I don’t know what they use on RockShox forks like yours, but it will be similar to the Kashima surface on Fox forks. I’m certain the ceramic in this product is ‘slippy’. But if it was better than what’s already on the forks, the manufacturers would already be using it. Either way, adding it is plainly either an error or unnecessary. The forks would cost between £1000 and £1,300 and a significant proportion of that is spent on that ‘surface’ on the stanchions. Anyway, looks like a great product for the frame and the fork lowers (but not the stanchions or the shock piston).

The coating wouldn’t have been applied to the shocks, but the microfiber would have have been used to clean off and dirt, remember the video was speeded up, and no It cant be applied to brake pads that would be insane 😊

£45 bet £40 of that pays for the overtop packaging! I do like your Park Tool bike stand though 👍🏻
