Good evening Peddlerz 🙏 The secret of the Midweek 180 is out! 😂 just back from and adventure to the Devils Pulpit gorge 👹That Porsche 992 Classic is ‘beautiful’, it really is! The perfect car, well, mine would be a Mk1 E Type, absolute positive comments about every part of it, the most incredible car ever made! Looking forward to another dog walk video 🫡👌 The electric car revolution has now shown what will really happen. Too expensive, not enough range and mimimal infrastructure. The government made its announcements then ledt everyone to it, poor planning and very little interest it seems! Usual Tories unfortunately. Looking forward to.your follow up concerning this and others thoughts! Fridays video will be a good one aswell. Take care all 😃

Watching this feeling absolutely knackered after detailing the wife’s Abarth 124 and applying the ceramic coating topper to see it throught the winter months.

Looking forward to the Yeti film and that Porche looks rather nice….

I drive a Fiat 500e and have solar PV panels installed on my well-insulated modern home, but I am glad that Mr Sunak has taken the measures he has today because most other countries have already done the same and I don’t see why the UK public should be expected to wear a collective hair shirt just to prove a point. I suspect that the devolved parliaments in Scotland and Wales will take issue with this and press on ahead, which will place an unfair burden on their populations despite the claims of a “just transition” to net zero.

Perfect car? For me it’s got to be an MST MK2 Escort with a BDG.

Given JLRs track record with electrical issues they may benefit from a 10 year head-start on the rest of the industry 🤔

This is good news as the majority of European countries have already done it Car companies are complaining because going down the EV only route means they can reduce workforce and the bean counters are happy with their bottom line. The infrastructure is not there in most countries to cope with massive increases in EV cars. It should be one of the options not the only one

Evening all.I don’t think there is such a thing as the perfect car.Every car has its flaws be they major or minor. There is always something that could be better in some way.On the ICE question. Is there not a danger that if the government changes then the next lot might bring back the 2030 engine ban.Good or bad, right or wrong, the car makers need clarity and a desicion that is stuck with so that proper plans can be made.Constant changing of policy helps no one.The race was great in Singapore.Go Carlos.

First MW180 I’ve seen. Dunno why, but this one is quite important.

What worries me is the impact upon folks like Jaguar. Another five years on the ban means more options for folks like me who really are not there yet when it comes to buying an EV. Charging infrastructure and specifically, the fact that I need a load of apps, accounts here there and everywhere and stupid stuff like that puts me off. But also, when I think about my recent time in the US, there were few if no EVs around (east coast). Quite what this means for Jaguar and exports, just for example, one does have to wonder. Going full EV after 2025… Talk about a gamble. Something perhaps similar applies to Ford, but their scale is very different.

So at present I’m only allowed to be on the turbo trainer and so I’m always in the middle of a Zwift session when the mid week 180 hits YouTube!

Given the price of EVs and the fact that all cars cost £2k – £5k more now, the government need to scrap the “luxury” car tax or drastically push it up from £40k to at least £60k.

I 100% agree. Recently bought a two and a half year old car and the “additional rate of tax” for cars over £40 that runs until the car is 6 years old is an absolute disgrace. It should be revised to £60K given the cost of new cars now.

Luxury car tax been £40k for years, price should also be what you pay for the car and not the list price.

I think the perfect car is in the eye of the beholder, Pete. For me, can’t go far wrong with the Alfa 33 Stradale (original 1960’s version – I’m “old school”). Possibly the most beautiful car in the World?

Firstly the 2030 date is about the selling of ICE vehicles, not the manufacturing of them. Secondly, the delay to 2035 is about the highly probable delay in adoption of Euro7 which will soon be decided by the EU, not the UK governments own decision making.

Yep I can honestly say that this is the first time I’ve agreed with the government about something in absolute yonks & that is about EV’S & Petrol or diesel cars I could say a shed load more but you know where I’m coming from Pete!! 🙄😁 👍🏻

I doubt the delay will make a big difference other than people won’t put the effort into on street charging and we’ll be having the same discussion in 5 years again.
Tesla will still sell well because they’ve got their own charging infrastructure which is good enough on the whole.

Thanks for the mention Pete. This week I prioritised an aperitivo and dinner in Polignano a Mare over the midweek 180 sham magnificent 7 race. 😂

Grapes are only sour if picked at the wrong time. When unripe they will certainly be sour. But during verasion, when some grapes begin to change colour and the sourness decreases, so you could time picking and chose the sweetness level!
