      Everyone makes such a big deal out of 800V architecture but in day to day driving and with home charging it makes zero difference… Even on that long roadtrip maybe once or twice a year it will only save you max 10 minutes on a charging stop IF you arrive with a preconditioned battery, with a low SoC, use charging infrastructure that supports high charging speeds, not all stalls are in use, etc etc… IMO it’s not worth the 10K extra they would probably ask if it was 800V

      You’re forgetting in a performance car, 800v architectures have better thermal management, and have much better power management throughout the SoC curve. This is very impactful when you consider most 400v performance EVs lose power significantly as SoC decreases. They are also lighter weight as less/thinner wiring is needed. I also think discounting the benefit on road trips is a mistake. They may be infrequent, but a 20 min charge vs a 40 min charge when you’re charging three times on a road trip can certainly be noticeable. And again, in a performance EV, charging at the track is much faster in an 800v architecture.

      @jayem8981 Which car needs a 40 minutes charge? Who is so stupid to sit there and look a charger working at 20-30-50KW? If you are an EV owner that makes long journeys, you know that there is the perfect spot to charge and go, to save time. Most cars will slow down their charging at around 60-80%, that happens at the first 10-20 minutes, you unplug and go for the next 100-150-200 miles. Why would you stay there and wait two or three times more to get less than one fifth of the charge?

      @c@chrishar110cause I like to charge all the way up and reduce stops. Apparently you’re arrogant enough to think everyone has your preferences. Also, philosophically, why should I pay for cheaper, inferior tech, when others (e.g. Zeekr, BMW etc) have shown they can sell the same class of vehicle with modern tech? Polestar needs to step it up here. Futhermore, my other points are still valid and still stand.

      @jayem8981 I didn’t say that the 800V tech is useless. If you already have an EV, why should you pay for another new EV just to get 10 minutes faster charging?
      You asked for faster charging but you waste your time charging at 100%. I can understand if you want to have longer stops, I make a 2000 miles journey very often, with a Tesla. I calculated that a BMW iX3 would save me two hours because it can have less and faster stops but It wouldn’t make any difference because I need most of these longer stops to have a nap or to enjoy my lunch. I charge more than 80% only at these stops, not because the car needs them or the chargers are far away and I will run out of power.

    I would have said that was bronze, not gold and it’s not a windscreen as its on the back.
    It’s a rear window, the windscreen is in front of the driver to deflect the wind as you drive. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

    Loving these “tall estate” options! This and the Toyota bZ4X Touring / Subaru Solterra are the perfect shape for EVs IMO. They are a bit taller so as to accommodate the battery and offer a decent sitting position for passengers, but not unnecessarily tall that hurts the frontal area.

    Such an amazing-looking EV! ⚡ It’s basically the sleek Swedish electric wagon we’ve been craving all along (even if they insist on the SUV badge)
    The styling is pure Polestar at its finest: zero clutter, razor-sharp Scandinavian lines, and native Android Automotive is a massive win for tech nerds like me ;)!
    Since Polestar carries that original Volvo performance heritage, I really hope the steering feedback and chassis dynamics live up to those striking looks! If Volvo turns around and builds an electric V60 estate—especially a lifted Cross Country version—it would be absolute perfection!
    Thanks for great walkaround Lucas (and that almost Morgan Freeman voice)! Can’t wait to see Electrifying team get it out on the open road (will be probably fight in the office who gets first drive)
