Škoda Enyaq Long term report:

It's time to bid farewell to our Enyaq, a vehicle we have actually been driving the length and breadth of the country in over the previous 6 months.

Our Enyaq 80 came with a list price of ₤ 42,925 in addition to a chunky ₤ 4,835 of alternatives that lifted the rate to ₤ 47,460. The choices consisted of Climate Plan Plus (₤ 325), Moon White Metal paint (₤ 660) and Convenience Seat package (our behinds say thank you Škoda – this one is cash well spent if you frequently drive long journeys). Our and truck also featured what Škoda calls 'Suite Design Choice (₤ 1,380), which is among the brand's highest interior trim spec levels. It includes leather seats, piano black stripes on the control panel and a posh-looking faux leather control panel with stitching.

The Enyaq features a 77 kWh battery and an official range of 330 miles. Throughout the last six months, effectiveness has actually been a real strength. It hovered around the high threes to fours in miles per kWh over the Summer season which corresponds to an empty-to-full range of around 290 miles in those milder conditions, but we routinely had 310 miles out of a full charge. For the very first time ever, Ginny handled to do her routine drive to Cornwall on a single charge. That made her very happy.

Our and truck featured the optional heatpump fitted – which is just over ₤ 1,000 – and our suggestions is to go all out as it's likewise helped keep the range up in winter season. Existing typical effectiveness has actually certainly dropped off and we're presently averaging more like 3 miles per kWh, which relates to around 240 miles on a complete charge.

Surprisingly, one of the important things we've loved most about the Enyaq is the infotainment system. In spite of some early glitches when attempting switch users, it has been flawless. It can go on a little a go sluggish sometimes and the speed at which the system 'gets up' and links to CarPlay isn't terrific. But compared to other functions of this VW Group tech, it's pretty good. Hats off to for that a person.

Will we be unfortunate to see the Enyaq go? Very much so. It's been a brilliant all-rounder that has actually delivered on every level. Efficient, comfortable and easy to live with, it has all the qualities most household car purchasers would look for. Goodbye, buddy!

Mmm, proper ski hatch. Handy for carrying a chainsaw with a long guide bar. Would save having to drop the rear seats when transporting more than one saw or carrying the 4ft. breaking-bar.

My only issue with the enyaq is the options list it really pushes the price up

That’s the point of options. You also have the choice of *not* specifying them, thus not increasing the price of the car.

I ordered the VRS in Race Blue in December, so I hope its as good as Ginny found it here. I can live with small cup holders. I’m hoping all the updates fix the bits mentioned here. Good luck with your Sportline Plus. Fingers crossed they turn up around March time.

Had mine for 18 months & on the whole I really like it. Quality is good, performance is good; better than most ICE cars in the real world. Handling is as good as you can expect from a std. SUV. OK not quite fun, but it’s safe & predictable and I would go as far as enjoyable if you know the road… and you can get the back end out with practice 😁 19″ rims are the ones with the best ride/handling compromise. I have the power tailgate & movable boot floor which fixes two of your gripes. You have got to be kidding on the Infotainment system and app though; it’s derisory! Yes, better than the rest of the VAG versions but that’s a bit like saying Mussolini was better than Hitler. Agree on the front cup holders and the charging speeds can be a bit moody. The other thing that enrages me is have to pay for upgrades already fitted to the car, like auto dip headlights & ambient light functions! This and the high price means I wont be getting another. I still think the Enyaq looks better but I can get a Tesla Y for the same money now – Come on?!

I have 80x with infotainment 3.6 software everything works well no issues so far and over 1900 km driven i guess you have much older SW version.

@@mr.wizeguy8995 It’s a 22MY 60iV, my colleague has an 80iv, same year, same issues – Up to 9 seconds of lag sometimes! I haven’t looked at my software version for a while but there are no updates pending and it recently had an update when it went in to have the puddle lights replaced. 3.2 last time I checked I think. The functionality of the app is rubbish; can’t lock the doors or close windows charging level often doesn’t communicate. It may be the internet signal but we never had a problem with our Zoe or Smart and our Corsa-e is fine too (and that has auto dip headlights!). It’s a real shame; as a vehicle it’s great. Its going in with a charging fault this week (The lead is dead but they need it for a day to check) they can check the software whilst it’s there.

Sorry Ginny. But how can home charging be a bit quicker if you have single phase electricity supply allowing for your max 7.4kW? Are you planning to upgrade to 3 phase which will only give you max 11kW anyway due to the onboard charger?

Ah, the old “hold the power button of the infotainment system for 20 seconds” trick in a Skoda. Have to do every few days in my 2021 Octavia. That’s if the system hasn’t frozen, crashed and restarted itself. Not to mention its latest trick that if I plug my phone in to charge and try to play audio via CarPlay it refuses to play anything. Can’t wait till see the back of it, and it’s the reason I didn’t even consider an Enyaq when ordering its replacement

The Enyaq is currently and has been almost from release at the top of my electric car list. It’s like a jack of all trades and is so versatile because of it. I’ve also sat in a few when my current car has been in for a service and the only thing that I noticed was the raised floor because that’s where the batteries live. I’ll not say too much about the infotainment other than to agree it does seem to be different in a good way from the likes of VW and Seat/Cupra cars but I still want buttons and twisty things to adjust the heating/cooling without messing about on a touch screen on the move. If I’m at the dealers next time I’ll do the cup holder test as the new name Enyaq 85.

I’m a little confused by the comment about the off-peak overnight charging speeds. The Enyaq has 11kW AC charging. It has a 77kWh battery pack. Most people have a 7kW home charger. That’s going to take about 11 hours to “fill it”. The only way it can be quicker is for you to have a 11kW home charger. Or the Enyaq gets fitted with 22kW AC charging and you’d have to get a 3-phase 22kW home charger. Anyway, how often do you need to “fill it up”?

I would be very interested in one of these, but in Ireland, they start at €52K. The ID 4 was reduced by a large amount to starting at €42K. The Model Y starts at €43K and is best value, but the hard too hard for the rural area I live in
