      20k for a medium-range battery, I sat in one when it was launched in the UK last year, interior quality kit car like, probably better quality now.
      The only thing it has going is its cuteness!
      I’d rather have a used Honda e for £15k which could sit 4 with decent equipment and range compared with the Microlino

      Exactly. I said the same thing when I saw this the first time. What I also added is that only girls with rich daddy’s will ever even consider this at this price. It doesn’t make sense for anyone else looking for a car to spend their hard earned cash on.

      @p@philiptaylor7902, the speedlimit was 60 mph and there was quite a bit of traffic. But I still don’t know if I would be brave enough to try it.

    The BMW Isetta _had_ 4 wheels in nearly every market _except_ the UK, where a 3 wheeled version allowed it to be registered as a motorcycle and get lower fees and insurance.

    The price completely kills it. At £15k for the mid range it might have a use. The second hand EV market has now taken off and you could do much better for the price. It might work as a sort of Boris bike which you could jump into and abandon when you arrive. Perhaps it would work on a golf course at Mar a Lago but the caddy would have to run to lug the clubs to the next tee. Maybe something for a mansion to collect the post at the post box at the end of the half mile of drive. Perhaps the sort of thing the Scilly Isles might allow or would work well in Bermuda. And so on.

    The concept is fab. Just needs proper doors. The slightest front ding could do a lot of damage, looking at the way the door is designed.

    It’s only about 10cm shorter than a smart fortwo EQ, a smaller battery, about 1/3 the top speed. And smart stopped selling that car, Microlina are really reaching with this, especially at this price. Looks cute though if that’s your only criteria.

    I’ve loved the idea of the Microlino since it was first introduced, however since then the Citroen Ami, Dacia Spring, Renault Twingo and Mobilize Duo have all been announced. That’s before you even look at used EVs for similar money…

    While its cool that it exists – I just see no actual purpose to it. I mean – you could get a Dacia Spring or a Twingo for that price. New, from the dealer. We aren’t even talking used cars here. And while they aren’t luxury cars, they do come with power-stearing and -brakes, airbags and significantly better range and charging speed.

    Cute, but insanely priced for what is in essence a child’s toy. Buy your self a good used Fiat 500 for a third of the price and you have a cute but very practical small car which is cheap to run.

    I would genuinely love one of these, but it’s mid range price of £19,000 new it’s just not a practical purchase. Maybe when the secondhand market develops that might be a time to have one. Certainly in Bristol it would be an ideal solution for local trips. Sadly, the company is nowhere near our city which makes even taking a test drive in one completely prohibitive. Maybe the company that imports them (Charlie horse) could open a branch here – I’m sure they’d sell well. Our city is crowded, has narrow streets and literally no residential EV infrastructure so being able to charge out of your house would actually work quite well!
