New Skoda Epiq First Look: Pricing confirmed for Europe’s smartest cheap EV??

EVALUATION:

The brand new Škoda Epiq is aiming to become one of the most practical and economical little electric SUVs on the marketplace, and in this video, Nicola Hume takes you on a complete walkaround to see if it delivers.
With rugged styling, a surprisingly spacious interior and up to 267 miles of range, the Epiq sits somewhere in between a compact hatchback and a household SUV. Think more "baby Karoq" than electric Fabia. Nic takes a better look at the outside style, smart storage concepts, substantial 475-litre boot, interior tech and family-friendly features, while likewise comparing it with crucial rivals like the Jeep Avenger, Renault 4 E-Tech and Citroën ë-C3 Aircross.
Inside, the Epiq gets a 13-inch touchscreen with cordless Apple CarPlay and Android Car, physical steering wheel buttons (the good news is), plenty of recycled materials and lots of those timeless Škoda "Just Smart" touches– including an umbrella in the door and an ice scraper concealed in the bootlid.
There are 3 powertrain options readily available, with approximately 210hp, and depending upon which variation you choose you'll get charging speeds of as much as 133kW. We've likewise driven a prototype variation already, so if you desire all the detailed driving impressions and specifications, head over to Electrifying.com where you can check out the complete review.

      the ID.Polo has it even better with the button situation. Unfortunately the cheaper and much more uniqe cupra raval has it much worse :/

    Warranty is a bit of a let down. Otherwise, very nice.

    They need to do an electric replacement for the Fabia.

      @PassportToPimlicoexcept the Fabia is a small hatchback, not an SUV.

      @hishamgThere’s no sign of an electric Fabia so I’m thinking that this covers Fabia and Kamiq territory.

      @hishamg Exactly. VW finally figured that out and is giving us the ID Polo. We need more small hatchbacks and fewer SUVs.

    The bias is strong on this one. Says “the first compact family SUV from a major european manufacturer close to the 25k mark…coming for the Renault 4…” and the Renault 4 starts at £23,950.

    Says “industry standard warranty” then quotes 8 other brands that have longer warranties. So not industry standard then…

      Industry minimum

      She says “one of the first European brands”. Secondly, 8 brands out of 30 or 40 is not the majority. I wouldnt say theres any bias at all.

      The Renault 4 is… a Renault 😉

      @pilotmatthew

      @hughmarcus1It isn’t the 90s anymore. Renault outperform VW group cars in reliability surveys and customer satisfaction surveys now.

      @pilotmatthew

      @theretep A quick google search reveals 17 brands in the UK with warranties 5 years or over. A further few have 4 years. So, yeah.

    Could be interesting. Thought having plastic cladding on the bottom of the doors but not on the sills looks odd.
    Wonder what the badges on the side do for drag, given how they wanted to make a point of the little fins. Think I’d have preferred to see the old logo there like on the wheels.
    For me, I think it’s probably a no, partly because I had a troublesome Kamiq and partly because the warranty needs improving.
