You Won’t Believe this One YouTube Comment that Avoided DISASTER !

I get over 35,000 coments each year on YouTube alone. I read them all and try to react to as many as I can. From time to time I see a remark that is hard to believe. This one lead to a week of getting Porsche problems sorted!

Re MOTs, don’t you think the roads we drive on should also be subject to an equivalent fitness certificate?

Absolutely a percentage of money raised should be ring fenced for the roads off taxes raised off our cars. If road tax (yes I know it’s not called that) was used for to repair and maintain and build roads it would be gold paved…..it should have been addressed decades ago. Car going in for £400 to replace some – nearside and offside front suspension arms ready for next MOT as it was an advisory. Just the wear from the state of the roads. 😢

@SWR112 i got a brand new motability van for my wheelchair bound wife three weeks ago , 2 days after getting it i hit a pothole (had no chance of missing it) managed to dent one of my alloys, to say i was pissed off is an understatement

None of them would pass, not round my way certainly, and when they do “fix” them it’s a shitty patch job that doesn’t last 🤬

You can set up a reminder for the MOT with the DVLA

Why was watching you get a new windscreen, MOT and service so enjoyable to watch? Love it! I had the same advisory on mine – on a relatively new tyre! 😫

The team at Autoglass at Portsmouth are very helpful and were happy to let me watch closely as they replaced the windscreen on my LEAF , twice! I have been driving for over 50 years and had never had a broken screen, but last year I had two breaks , both on Farlington Bypass, and only a month apart. The process of realigning the camera for the Adaptive cruise control was most interesting.
The days of pinging in a new screen using a string in the rubber seal have long gone.

We live in rural Essex, and almost all the roads we drive on are utterly atrocious. I literally have no idea how the councils can get away with allowing them! In some spots, multiple people have tyre/wheel/suspension issues caused by hitting potholes (often after rain, full and invisible if you don’t know the area), but there seems to be no responsibility for any repairs. We have a Cupra Formentor and an MX5, to which we’ve had to have windscreen and tyre issues on both cars very recently. Rubbish!

I’ve been getting lots of stone chips lately. Mostly on the bodywork but some on the windscreen as well. It’s the state of the bloody roads!

I love a new windscreen, not only does it make the car look new again, but the smell of the adhesive returns that “new car smell”.

I had to have a new windscreen last week after a black low flying object decided to use my passenger side of the screen as target practice. Booked through Autoglass which was a bit of carfuffle as their systems was not playing ball. All sorted and had it done a day sooner after they phoned me. Glad you got your cars sorted and hopefully you don’t have an ac leak.
