Why buy the Škoda Enyaq vRS over the standard model ?

The Škoda Enyaq vRS has recently received a facelift and now it's had the vRS treatment. Does more power and four wheels drive add to possibly the best EV Škoda make or does it take away from it?

    I like the interior, perfect for my taste, could just do with a tad more shouty bits on the exterior, could only lease as buying is suicide
    Pete I have Skoda vrs octavia estate I just simply turn the 2 bongs off with simply pushing the top right button on the steering wheel,, then use the scroll button and press

    Chichester tip! That made me laugh. I was there this morning in my 2002 Dodge Ram truck. Had to dispose of some old wardrobes. The guys there like it because it is a bit noisy. You don’t get that in a primer grey electric Skoda. 😂 (don’t tell anyone but one of my other car’s a Superb in Business grey😜).

    So £55k new. So What is the depreciation after 2/3 years. Any ‘independant’ car reviewers every cover this ? Nope. Wonder why

      (1) he can’t know
      (2) don’t pay full list price
      (3) lease it so it’s built in anyway

    Would be good if you maybe kept your eyes on the road rather than staring at the display. Otherwise a decent review.

      It’s easy to glance at the display, and drive at the same time.

    No wonder accidents are on the increase with the constant need to read a screen. Lunacy.

    I still undecided between another enyaq or a smart #5 tried both and can’t decide between the two

    If helpful… I have a MY24 Enyaq Coupe Edition. Previous shape to the headlights, but the same drivetrain with the AP550 motor, 77mkWh battery and rear wheel drive. After 25000 miles my long-term average is 4.1 m/kWh (I.e. averaging 315 miles range across a couple of years).

    I’m an oldie… I don’t drive in Sport mode. But I don’t tend to have too much passing me.

    Money-wise I bought it second-hand from a Skoda dealer; it was a Skoda / VAG UK car (Milton Keynes plates are a giveaway). Cost a fair bit under £35k with less than 8500 miles at around 8 months old.

    Only issue has been a cursed rattle in the dashboard, probably not helped driving the concreted M25 section regularly. Hence….

    I preferred the Edition spec as the suspension is softer than the Sportline and vRS, and my rear seat passenger prefers the normal front seats that don’t block nearly so much of the view.

    Changed tyres lately at 25000+ to Conti AllSeason2s with XL sidewalls and not noticed any ride quality degradation, but sharper on the poor road surfaces late winter.

    Reckon range is better in D-mode instead of B. Best to work with the car’s momentum rather than obsessively attempt to recuperate a small proportion of kinetic energy. The police Roadcraft manual to driving methods is a real range enhancer!

    Someone said “not practical at all”? I cart a mobility scooter etc around with a lot of spare space and charging at home is a real boon. Another family member has the SUV, the Coupe’s boot is only slightly smaller but the roof profile is the only compromise , but then of course buy the SUV instead if it’s an issue.

    The kicker is that it’s a competitor to the Audi equivalent but much cheaper, and more luxurious than the VW ID5 and the Ford Capri. At the money I paid it made sense for me.

    Also for the folks who made the comment, you can switch the widescreen panel off when driving as well as all the internal lights. Not quite a Saab 900 night-switch but close.

    The rear window doesn’t generally get dirty, due to the aero, but the boot panel below it certainly does.

    The steering wheel has buttons, not touch controls. I would prefer the HVAC on real buttons and dials but the temperature and seat heating hasn’t been a problem with the touchscreen. You’ll find other folks like Domhnall on his Enyaq Gorm channel managing well enough too.

    You can show all your ADAS systems using the list view and just switch them off using one screen. And you can set that screen up as a button along the top of the screen. Along with other functions.
    You still need to unselect them but once set up it is just a case of one press to see the list of functions and unselect the ones you don’t want.
    It would be better if you could do it with one button press for things like a car wash but it’s not as complicated as you show.
    Plus you can use the scroll wheel on the steering wheel for the volume and the buttons to step through radio stations or music media.
    You can also set up apps on the bottom of the screen.
    It’s actually quite configurable but you need to view the videos out there that show you how to set it up (the printed manual is rubbish for detail).
    BTW, I believe the wheelbase of the standard Enyaq is exactly the same as the Elroq so should have the same leg room. The boot is bigger but most of the vehicle is the same.

    @appkazoo5925

    Hmmm…..I am fairly certain the interior passenger space in an Enyaq and Elroq are the same because the wheelbase is the same. The difference in over all length means the Enyaq has a larger boot.

    @appkazoo5925

    We have an Elroq and the driver will rarely use the slider volume control under the infotainment screen because there’s also volume control on the steering wheel. It’s the silver cylinder button on the left hand side

    The face lifted Enyaq looks great, the meteor grey paint finish does suit this coupe version.

    It looks great! I have a November 24 85x Sportline Coupe which has been excellent. Great cars and possibly underrated. In practice, the coupe doesn’t really affect rear space or boot. My sons are 6 ft 2 and 6 ft 3. No issue and the boot is big enough

    Great review as always! It’s mad that a fairly regular car such as this is now liable for the luxury tax though.
