Toyota GR Supra ‘Manual’ (335bhp) – All the sportscar you’ll ever need ! | 4K Review

Is the fifth generation Supra all the you'll ever need? For me, the addition of a manual transmission to the GR Supra lineup really offers this vehicle an extra element that makes it even more driver focussed. In my week with the and truck I again battled with weather but found that the GR Supra can be a B Road blaster and a cross country mile muncher at the very same time.

Cool car but the manual box arrived 2 years too late. Anyone that wanted a Supra has already bought one so these will be very rare.

I’ve the chance to drive it last monday and it’s a fantastic car. Indeed, you can drive it all day long in 3th gear, there’s always a lot of power (i’m sure, it’s more than 335 Hp). The gearbox is almost as good as my fk8 type R. (It’s difficult to find the reargear but after a while i’ve got used to it ).

evening everbody.love the new shape supra. personally i would put a splitter on it and maby tuning it a bit. but you just give Toyota credit for making a fun manual car.

Got to drive an auto version of this and it was wicked. Looks like Toyota has once more done what drivers want and provided us with more of an experience. Nice review Ped!

Great video Pete, nice car but shame Toyota didn’t develop it themselves and not base it on the BMW

No matter how good to drive I just couldn’t live with those looks, loved every previous gen but not this one. Just have to look at the roof and all I see is a Peugeot RCZ, which I do like. Also feels quite cramped.

It looks okay to me especially the rear end a cracking engine to have.

Really enjoyed the video and really good review of the Supra. I’ve got a 2L as my daily. Back and forth to work getting 40mpg and it is pretty quick 0 to 60 in about 5.6 sec. Love the shape, really looks special.

I drove to Aberdeen & back from Glasgow a few years ago in my flat mates Celica and the things that stand out about that memory & drive were the biblical down pours the rear wing on the car and the gear box which was really nottchety which I really liked. That supra in red reminded me on an Alfa from the back until I saw the badge. The colour for me is perfect as I just bought the Honda Civic in red on the strength of you review so thanks for that and I did mention your channel when I bought it so you might get another follow from my salesman.

Another great review. Have to say I like the red and the cabin suits the car as it is all about the driving

A well put together review Sir Pete. This car is one I really would love to own some day. I’ve seen a few in person and one of them was in yellow which was a fantastic color for this car and the other a light blue. Maybe some day…

Good evening petrol ped, absolutely fantastic video thoroughly enjoyed it and very informative. Just wondering what the petrol tank size was, and I don’t think the Toyota supra mark five looks bad at all. I think it looks good. Keep up the fantastic work absolutely brilliant video as always

Good balanced review. I’ve test driven a couple of Supra’s (ZF8) in the last month with the intention of buying on to replace my sold F-Type. Couple of questions… 1) You didn’t say much about the sound, too quiet or just about the right volume for a “sports car”?…. 2) As someone of similar age to yourself, I’m worried it’s a bit boy racerish, although think that’s in my head. Did you feel at home driving it?

In the US atleast, the exhaust is valved so it can be very quiet or probably a 5 to 6 out of 10 with the valves open.

Great looking car and for once I think it’s priced well for what you’re getting.. that’s a lot of performance and good looks for the money (and being a Toyota chances are it will be sensible running costs 😊)

Had a quick drive in the Supra, not manual, but really not sure. Still a great engine but lower output than current BMW models I believe, older tech, looks were not my cup of tea but this is an individual thing. However, drove fantastically well and had a character of its own that is becoming rarer by the day!

    Hi Ped
Enjoyed this one very much. Always had a soft spot for Toyota dating back to my purchase of a Celica many years ago. Very well built but flawed as a drivers car, handling needed sorting. Fast forward to the 90’s a very good friend of mine with contacts in Toyota, loaned me a Supra gen 4, fantastic. From memory performance was in 911 territory. Joining a motorway ( no traffic) managed wheel spin in 3rd gear ?00mph. Funny how some things remain in the memory bank. Current Supra yes I like it very much.
