SURPRISE DS 7 Review – Can this Premium SUV justify its Price Tag ?

It has actually been a couple of years because I drove a DS Vehicles cars and truck. This week I was indicated to participate in an occasion with the DS Formula E Team but unfortunately it needed to be cancelled. That left me with the DS 7 Performance Line+ E-TENSE 225 they sent me to drive to the event. Well it would be disrespectful not to inform you what I consider it. Time for a journey with the Petrol Pup!

There’s something about the gear selector that I don’t like. Why not make it a simple small switch like on the VWs?

Depends which price tag you want to justify. Brand new? Absolutely not, only a fool would buy one. Secondhand with ~10,000 miles on for half the price? An interesting buy!

    Nice thorough review as always.
This DS has nothing to tempt me out of our Ioniq 5, though.

Not a car for me but each to their own.

The premium quality sound when opening and closing the bonnet reminds me of a 2CV.

Meant to be the posh end off Citroen, yet this DS doesn’t have adaptive cruise control ๐Ÿ˜ฎ. For the money I’d want them things.

The fact its French tells you all you need to know. Premium or not, values will plummet as soon as someone is daft enough to sign on the dotted line – and its unreliability is enough to deter real petrol heads.

No sane driver goes out to by junk like this.

Sorry about the issue at the end of this video. I normally check the entire video but uploaded this late last night. The last piece to camera has been disabled in the edit software. Gutted. Canโ€™t reload as YT would not like that ๐Ÿ˜ข

This may have been in the bit which got munched by the editing software… what sort of fuel economy did you get with it operating as a hybrid?

You have the best looking Assistant since Debbie McGee, Pete! Great review, and that’s why I’m still here, not withstanding your views on the Orange Man, that shouldn’t be aired on your channel. An an aside, “are modern exterior plastics” better? I’m feeding the trim on my MG4 every 2 months with an AutoGlym product to keep it black, might be something to look at?

We have a DS7, replaced our Disco5 which developed a failing engine – bought the 225 petrol (used), with leather dash and full leather seats. Found it to be smooth and effortless compared to the heavy Land Rover, and enjoy driving it. True the auto can be slow to make up its mind when you push it but then come off throttle. Hybrid is lumpier drive compared to pure petrol. Some neighbours thought it was an Audi, wife always calls it a Citroen though ๐Ÿ˜‚
