My 2nd video from Germany with Skoda. This time I collaborate with Top Equipment's really own Tom 'Wookie' Ford and we take the brand-new 7 seat Skoda Peaq for a drive. This is the largest Skoda up until now and is very much targeted at the Variety Rover. Is it exceptional sufficient and how does it drive?

    I had always drowe ล koda cars – from Favorit to my last Octavia Combi RS 245. And my wife now wants to change her Kamiq for the electric one. Now we are decinding what to buy. I am pussing for Epiq but she wants something bigger.

    I am with Tom Wookie, it sounds ‘pe-ak’ to me.

    Another thing on the footbrake, it’s also pretty “long” on the new Tesla model 3 (standard/rwd) I test driven recently, not sure why.

    Great early Monday morning review Ped. Not sure in the look of this Skoda it might just be me but something doesnโ€™t look right and I canโ€™t put my finger on exactly what it is! Surprised Skoda which is part of VW Group which is in so much financial trouble due mainly to EV market failure are launching yet another EV. They are starting to remind me of SAAB who no matter what GM said just went and did their own thing anyway.

    8:05 now… answer this question. How often you change the temperature in your car, versus, how often you change the level of seat heating? Happy that they are back with physical buttons, sad that they chose the wrong one. what was wrong with the Kodiaq’s multifunction rotary controllers?! 18:00 cupholders, charge points, small windows… but do we have vents?

      @jondobbs Funny you should say that. We used to live up an unpaved hillside in Antigua. We had a Lada Samara assembled in Panama and it lasted us for over 10 years. Our nextdoor neighbours still have theirs. I have a 1964 diesel Land Rover too.

    A very interesting car. My son has a new Elroq and he likes it better than his Diesel Q3 it is growing on me also but there are a couple of things I don’t like ie. the seat belts tighten automatically as you set off and the fact the car does not shut down until you are outside the car & you lock it.

    Interesting (challenging) times ahead for VAG! Rumour has it that they are dropping SEAT (but keeping the Supra sub-brand). The group was in all honesty a bit bloated with similar models across different brand names – too many variants are very expensive and money draining. I like where Skรถda are going though – I much prefer their design language and quality compared to many Chinese offerings.

    Well, it’s certainly a bit different to the Buick Enclave I’m bombing around Florida in… That’s also a 7 seater, but has a lovely 2.5 turbo 4 pot under the bonnet, lol!!
