    I tried configuring the First Edition 55 of each variant (Škoda, ID.polo, Raval) and they come out at exactly the same price… the only real difference is the paint colours available (not many, mostly boring).

      Skoda is another Manufacture that likes to charge an extra premium for Red – £1,065 in the UK

    You call it a small car but it looks about the size of the Yeti that I used to own with a decent amount of space. If I was in the market for an electric car it would certainly be a contender

      It looks like this is slightly shorter than a Yeti but with a longer wheelbase (I guess due to no petrol or diesel engine upfront) and probably better room for passengers.

      To be fair a 1990s VW Golf was considerably bigger than a 1970s one, so this is nothing new.
      But it does look like this is a little longer than the 1995 Golf – albeit not by much. I think the interior space will be a lot better because of the space they save by not having an engine upfront.

    Great video love Skoda the way they have materialised. And clever useful bag hooks and parking ticket holder and storage solutions. Would you have this over the new Hyundai 3 ? Thank you

    Great review as always ped this car i would certainly have over the EV2 as i find all Kia’s quite hideous but if I was ever to consider one of these types of car’s it would possibly be the id polo cross not that there’s been a review as yet but boy does it looks classy and quite handsome?☺️ So please do make sure you test drive that once it’s out?👌🏻👍🏻👏🏻

    I am a Private Cash buyer. As replacement electronic parts are likely to be very expensive, I prefer a Manufacturer with the confidence to offer a decent General Warranty.
    In the UK Skoda only offers 2 year/unlimited miles followed by a 3rd year/60,000 mile limit. Most others are better. e.g. Hyundai 5 years/unlimited miles and Geely 8 years/125,000 mile limit.

    To be honest I think I prefer this to the polo. I know all the motoring journalists are raving about the polo, but it’s a bit bland.

    I have a VW Group car with the automatic regen based on upcoming speed limits/ junctions/ distance to the vehicle in front etc.
    I know I can switch mine off and select high or low fixed regen in the infotainment, so I’d wonder if you can do the same on an Epiq?
    With mine, if a roundabout or similar is coming up, you can also lightly use the accelerator pedal to gradually reduce it to taste.
    I do leave it switched on for mine though – I have got used to it and on balance I find it useful, although it’s not perfect – you can’t rely on every junction or road feature being in its database for one thing.

      PS I’m also not a fan of one-pedal driving – when it’s not automatically braking, I prefer to lightly use the brake pedal and control regen that way instead.

    From other reviews believe the smaller battery is LFP & larger 2 NMC.

    Smaller might do for daily use & no max charge worries.

    Looks really good and my Yeti-loving other half would want one now!
    Not due in the UK until January 2027 so my local dealer tells me. I’d want the big battery 55 so probably even longer wait.

    I’m not surprised it feels good to drive – I came across the White Peak and across from Buxton to Gradbach and over to Macclesfield on the back lanes in my early version Enyaq as the Cat n Fiddle was shut. I left a Porsche through the bends – the throttle response in an EV, especially rear drive, makes for a great cornering experience getting the car rotated being just a matter of point and squeeze – be interesting how that changes with all the torque through the front only on the smaller cars. That said, now I have to travel North more for family visits into the more snow prone areas of the country, switching to an AWD EV is going to be more practical.

    The latest travel assist uses swarm data to help you keep the car in the right side of the road where there are no road makings and override your set speed based on other VAG cars’ average speed and lane choices on the same stretch of road to help you dodge speed camera etc. You can turn off applying swarm data. 🙂
