My First Drive Event with the Porsche Spyder was going well until…

I joined a Beauty salon PrivΓ© Drive Trip hosted by 5 Zeros Supercars. Lovely roadways, a charming lunch and an evening remain in the 5 Star Lucknam Park Hotel. What might possible go wrong?!

I’ve had a couple of Morgans over the years and am so familiar with going slowly in the rain with the hood down and thinking ‘I need to stop!’. But you’ve got it down to a few seconds by the looks of it…. good work. πŸ™‚

When I look at the video, I’m happy to have decided on the 718 Boxster GTS 4.0. I would just have the roof closed.

A 4.0 GTS Boxster would have been a far wiser choice, and a more attractive one.

The only two upsides would be purchase price and roof. Spyder wins on looks, residuals, suspension and performance πŸ‘Œ

Thanks for taking us along this tour Pete. Glad to sun came out when you were making your way through the gorge. What a beautiful part of the world to go top down in a very special car. Where that is concerned, guess the compensations make up for those moments of endurance.

The Dulcote Las Vegas twinning is due to the number of discretely located casinos in the village. I’m told some of the cottages are in fact fronts for thriving gambling establishments and surprisingly, a few Nevada residents have holiday homes there. Durston Road is affectionately known as ‘The Strip’.

Hello Pete, all you need is a brolly on the passenger seat for the traffic light stops. Nice trip, love the Cheddar gorge section with the posh camera, I remember going to the gorge on a school trip- all I had was an egg and cress sandwich and a bottle of pop- nice to see your refreshments were slightly more up market. Car looks great, cheers Peter.
