Is a £4k Audi TT the PERFECT Drive Tour Car ?

For me a Drive Trip is about the most fun you can have in a vehicle. The big concern is what automobile should you do a trip in and how do you find all those epic roads?

I have actually teamed up with MIVIA, a Drive Tour Buddy App that does just that. Join me in Switzerland as I get reunited with my very first decent cars and truck, a Mk1 Audi TT Roadster. Could it be the best journey car?

Nice video Peter and lovely to see how cool a Mk 1 TT still is.
Hoping the Mivia concept grows quickly, as it looks like a brilliant way to plan and enjoy some epic roads.
Only thing missing from your drive in the TT Roadster, was Matt Munro singing ‘On days like these’. 😎

He would have had to be in a Miura! LOL.

I would not drive that cobbled road in anything other than sunshine

I’ve had my 2000 Audi TT coupé since new. You’ve inspired me to find some new roads to explore! Glad you got to reconnect with an old friend.

I’d just got to my hotel near Heilbronn in Germany on my way home from what will be my 6th Alps tour and found this video on YouTube! I have done all of our tours in my 2007 MX5 NC Sport with a BBR 200 kit fitted. My friend who did the tour with me has a 2016 Audi TTS convertible. These cars are great for such a tour. The soft top is a must I’d say as you get to see the scenery in all its glory. We did the old San Gotthard on our last tour and thoroughly enjoyed it. This tour highlights were the Stelvio Pass, Umbrail Pass, Fluellsa Pass and the Timmelsjoch. For me I think a car that isn’t too big is critical to enjoying the roads in the mountains.

We returned today from a two week euro tour and did the Furka and Grimsell just a few days ago. I recommend anyone to do a trip like this using whatever means they wish. We’ve always done our own thing whether as a couple or with friends, but will take a look at the App to see if it make planning, etc, any easier. Our first ‘proper’ car was a Mk1 225 coupe, denim blue with blue interior.

Some stunning roads and scenery and a cracking wee car to do it in. I was on Auto Trader the other day wondering whether I could justify changing one of our cars and guess what stood out yes an Audi TT Quattro convertible so the wife would leave me the Merc. Now I am really considering it.

Cracking idea. Agreed that drive tours have become more and more middle class and above. All should enjoy these roads Even with the TT being a golf in a designer tracksuit 😅

As many exotic car owners can attest, in the end, sometimes having a car that requires no planning , can go anywhere and can be parked spontaneously provides the richest driving experiences of all.

I’ve got the Audi TT Coupe 190 Bhp the fastest fwd variant. The one I got is also ulez compliant. I got it a couple weeks ago for £750 fresh mot. A nice car to drive can’t really go wrong for that price

I’ve never really admired open-topped cars enough to have my own. However…THIS… This would get me into a convertible if I still lived in Europe. Wow! To think I’ve driven these roads in my sunroofed Prelude 40 years ago (without a smartphone or social media)…and now I see I actually MISSED OUT! 😆🤣 Honestly, this video is great fun, and I’m happy to watch you folks experience it. Take care and keep driving these cars on these roads! Aloha!

Great video on a great road. Was really nice to meet you on Sunday in the queue for the tunnel and share car trip stories. I was the guy in the dark green Vantage Roadster. Keep up the great work on the channel. I really enjoy the content.👍
