It's fake gearbox may well be a gimmick however the Hyundai IONIQ 5N bought something new to the performance EV market. I flew to Spain to drive it's brother or sister, the Hyundai IONIQ 6N on Roadway and on Track. Could this cars and truck be the new criteria for performance EVs?

Really do like the look of this car, agree with you regarding the plastic. I think the fake noise and gear changing is brilliant. I know it messes with your head and the anti EV brigade will hate it but, what the heck. I think it’s great. All EVs should do it. Very nice car and what a place to film.. Thanks Pedro. Excellent as always

Amazing. But I was watching this I thought how good that circuit would be in a GTI Club sport manual. The 6 is much better from teh front now.

Great vid Ped. Loved your vid on the 5N that much I went out and bought one, fantastic car and the best of both worlds, easy comfy commuter (100 miles/day) and fun b road blaster with some very scary performance.
Takes much respect in cold damp conditions, nicknamed “Bambi” in our house hold 🤣🤣

Hyundai N cars are up there one off the best I might be baised 😂 own a I20 N absolutely great car 🚗

Great video Pete. Looks a stunning car. I drove the 5n when they came out and loved that. It was just a bit too big and lacked range. Great fun though. I’ll be honest though, I probably wouldn’t buy one as I reckon that the likes of the iX3 and i3 look like far more compelling options. I guess that after owning an EV for over 3 years now, I love how they drive and whilst the gear box simulation is bloody impressive, I just need a fast, composed EV, with a great range and fast charging. BMW are knocking it out of the park with their Neue Klasse range right now.

Not a fan of the plastic at the back – styling looks more like it’s been rear ended and fixed with stuff from the scrap yard.

Otherwise, looks and sounds like a good car.

I have a new (J2) Taycan GTS which is an incredible machine. Add the shifts and the noises and it would be completely awesome. It does have noises but not as good as the previous setup on my 4S Cross T. The Ionic 6, i hardly ever see them on the road probably like me the majority thinks they are the most dog awful thing on the road. I would rather be seen getting out of the back of a sheep than the back of that thing. Hats off to everything else just make it look like something even a blind person could appreciate.

Goodness me Pete you’ve really got me in a dilemma now. Having put 7000 miles on my 5 N since June it’s proven to be an amazing thing, if a bit hard on tyres, but I love it regardless. I’d be quite happy getting the same or a very similar package again so please also cover the Genesis GV60 Magma when the press drives happen this summer!
