*EPIC* 644bhp per tonne ‘Spartan’ – Hypercar performance for Supercar money ! | 4K

When an automobile has 430bhp and weights simply 700kg the efficiency is going to be epic. I got to experience the Spartan, a road legal track car made in Australia thanks to me mate Oliver at

The Spartan is powered by a supercharged Honda engine, has a handbook 6 speed transmission, rear wheel drive, exposed weave carbon fiber body, 6 point harnesses and no driver help. A dish for fun!

Looks like a blast to drive. I think you did as well as you could for the sound 🙂

Cracking video Pete. You really captured how much of a missile this thing must be. I definitely need one of these in my life.

Good gosh! What a beauty! I’ve owned three Honda motorcars in my life, and none of them sounded as lovely as this Honda-powered rocket. Funnily enough…I REALLY like…the tyres! They have height to them, and they’re not the rubber-band rubbish all the “cool kids” are wearing these days. The less-than-stellar audio bits really ADDED to the raw racecar feeling of engagement you two probably felt on your drive. And…did I see a Petrol Pup video-bomb in the background? LOL! A perfect little video. I had almost as much fun as you did! Mahalo!

Sorry but at that price point there are a LOT of other cars I’d rather have. If you can afford a Spartan you can afford a BAC Mono and I know which one I’d rather have. I’ve got a VERY similar car to the Spartan you should drive, it’s 500kgs, 60’s sports car inspired, mid engined, 500 kgs with ‘only’ 175 bhp. I paid £8500 for it!!!

Power to weight is everything…so hilarious to see a Tesla model Y whatever it was trying to show off to his mates…I left it for dead on the twisties with my £700 citroen c1

What’s the battery size and how long does it take to charge to 80% 🤣

If you don’t have a windscreen, always wear a full face helmet. A stone chip in the face really isn’t a good thing.

Love the car. I’d be happy to accept a bit more weight if it was cheaper with fibreglass body panels.

What a usable Bonkers!!! in the best possible way car. The first thing that stood out for me was the Registration plate and I think an Atomic Energy Agency plate is apt for a low slung open top sports car with that level of power to weight and soundtrack to match. Brilliant film and I presume that was all filmed under the speed limit after your podcast of earlier it just looked and sounded faster??

I take it you’ve given up on your IAM Masters then Pete? National speed limits seem to flash by when driving open cars like that on don’t they.😉

Wow what a car, all 300 will be sold no problem. Loved the bit where you was tootling along having a chat and a car appeared in your rear view mirror, wasn’t there for long. Great video Pete.

Great security system. Just take steering wheel into house. I did that first time I ever drove to England. Parked in hotel car park in Manchester, took steering wheel into hotel bedroom. I had heard so much about car theft in England. This was the 1980s after all.
