BMW i7 xDrive60 – All Electric Limo with a £10k Home Cinema ! | 4K

The all-electric xDrive60 is a high-end executive saloon with the very best rear seats and technology ever. A ₤ 10k home movie theater, reclining seats and window blinds. This is absolutely a vehicle to be driven in although regretfully in this evaluation I needed to do the driving myself. Ends up is drives fantastic too!

I actually think this looks ok, well in black at least. Enjoyed the review Ped.

Can I get £10k off and forgot the home cinema, OR, can I wait 2 years and buy it for £30K?

These press cars are lovely but not for real people at that price point. However thoroughly enjoyed the video and always love the OTT specs they put in them

£132,000 WOW, I paid less than that for a 4-bedroom detached house in a lovely area of Devon in 2010 !!! and I know which will increase in value by far the greater in the next couple of years.

Due to inflation £132k in 2010 is now worth £235k.
Car prices are up for the same reason.

@Peter Harrison I beg to differ,

@Peter Harrison Zoopla estimates £395,000 Maybe I was lucky and purchased the property at the right time, I will never know but
I do feel investing in property is far safer. Thank you for your comments btw they are very much appreciated.

      @stevie 007 – cars like this aren’t investments.
Houses have outpaced inflation for years, especially in some locations.
My point was – car prices are high now due higher inflation.
Yes in the 1990’s you could buy a new Fiesta for £5k, but even those are £17k for a poverty spec model with an underpowered engine now.
I remember in 2005 BMW launching a 760Li v12 for over £70k, then in 2010 a similar model was about £100k. The cost of this is in line with previous models.

I don’t mind the looks personally. Sure the lights are different, but they aren’t offensive. The problem I have with it is that BMW are still working their EV cars to their legacy platforms. Sure I understand why, as it keeps cost down etc, but when you don’t have a huge V8 up front, is there really a need for such a huge front end? I suppose these are the challenges that multi power train type car manufacturers currently face. By their nature EVs and ICE cars have parts of their power trains in very different places, so using the same shell/design for both is always going to lead to a compromised car. If build from the ground up as an EV, I’m sure the same interior and storage space could be achieved in a much smaller (and probably lighter) footprint. Then then leads to greater efficiency and range.

Having grown up in a time when my first articulated truck grossed out at 4.5 tons with a 32 ton ability, I find the numbers quite astonishing.

Soon we’ll need a license for a lorry to drive these things. On the other hand, if you got the cash to spare…it’s a nice lorry to be chauffeured in. Nice video!

The front end styling of BMWs these days reminds me very much of the new Skodas on the market.
Does that mean Skoda have upped their game, or does it mean that BMW really need to try harder to keep ahead of the competition?
Either way, I suppose you’re right when you say you can’t see the outside of the car when you’re travelling in it.

Hi Pete! Enjoyed that! Agree with one of the guys on the front lights similar to those of Skoda cars, and I, like you, love the rear. Reminds me of Alfa Romeo sedans, which is a good thing. The rest is spot on for those who are in the market for these. It comes through on your video how smooth it is. Air suspension doing a great job I’d say.
    Cheers, Tom.

    Hi Ped
Interesting to see how the other half may live, being driven around in this “Tour de Force” BMW. At £130k plus not going to be a dash to the showrooms. Personally does not appeal to me as I prefer to drive rather than be driven, and I do not wish to drive around in a very high priced mobile Tec lab weighing 2.7t.😥

Great video Ped. I’m no fan of EVs, and hope we can hold them off for as long as possible, but that i7 is a beauty. But i feel this is the problem. For me, the only EVs or hybrids that I’m attracted to are from high-end brands. And considering how expensive all cars have gotten in the last decade, this feels like a massive problem for the future. Back to the i7 though, do you see yourself getting one for a longer period and journey (i.e up to Scotland and back)? Your reference to Spectre made me think of the Bond films.

Definitely not a looker but in black it’s not too bad and as you say you’re on the inside so why worry. That interior though is spectacular and probably worth the 132k 😍

BMW styling has def gone down the pan the last 5 yrs.- so glad I bought my 3 before they changed !! – However, I reckon. the 7 is the best looking car in their range – I actually love the headlights

Great review Pete. What an eyewatering price! Does the price include indicators because they seem to be a bit of a challenge for most BMW drivers I’ve seen LOL

An absolutely lovely place to be as a passenger and no doubt a nice drive ….. but I am left wondering how much you will be able to pick this up for in a couple of years time and how a car that weighs 2.7t with that power is going to eat tyres! I suppose if you can afford £130k that’s not something you care about, but I would choke at the likely depreciation of a car like this….

My concerns with all these heavy electric cars is the increased wear and tear over time to our roads, kerbs etc.

Peter…this could have been Joe’s next car! A wonderful taxi and just special to ride in but only works as a private purchase when 2+ years old at 60% off list. A friend bought a 2015 730d just before the start of lockdown and traded it back in after 15,000 miles for £4500 more than he paid for it! It was wonderfully smooth and quiet but he felt like he had aged 20 years when driving it…so bought an M5 Competition instead!!😃😃😃
