Audi R8 Head-to-Head – V8 vs V10 – The First vs The Very Last ! | 4K

In this love letter to the I put two of the very best Audi R8s head-to-head. V8 vs V10. Manual vs Auto. One of the first Gen 1 R8s vs on of the really last the R8 GT. Just how has this renowned mid-engined Audi evolved in the last 15 years or two.

This is my last movie of 2023 and I wished to end in style. Delight in!

Great video and thanks for making it. I’m lucky enough to have a gen 1 R8 manual along with its stable mate 981 Spyder. I had planned to sell the R8 to accommodate the newly acquired Spyder earlier this year, as two weekend cars is an expensive extravagance, but each time I think about popping it on the classifieds i change my mind, . and in spite of getting the Spyder i still drove the R8 as much if not more this year. I think they are both keepers….oh and yes…Those Top Gear exhausts are the dogs !

I am loving that V8 noise! Neighbour had one with a Milltek fitted and oh my days

Firstly Happy Christmas when it comes to you both & the pups. Stunning cars both of them I would want the safety of the AWD system but the styling of the V10 was really on point for me but I would have wanted Black over white so as I could not make my mind up on either I would have to pass on them. I have never driven a V8 or V10 but I did have a 2.5L V6 with an induction kit that sounded really good but it doesn’t match the distinctive sounds of the bigger engines. Sometimes I think the R8 looks too much like a TT but then you get a side on glimpse and a fleeting glance of it way out front and instantly recognise an R8. Stunning cars but not for me but I am sure you had a few days of pure enjoyment.

+1 .. An excellent and timely Audi R8 comparison. . A contemporary analog Super Car, worthy of any garage. .. P.S.
The Post today delivered my very own PetrolPed embroidered shirt …. Timely for Under the Christmas Tree. . Happy Holidays to you and Mrs. Petrol Ped. .. Cheers, Vail, Colorado … “Think Snow”

What a Christmas present. For me it has to be Gen 1 for exterior design and drive train with the GT interior.❀πŸ”₯πŸ‘

Awesome video Peter and what an amazing car the R8 is!
Love the drive by shots and the exhaust notes are very addictive.

What a great tribute to the R8 and a very enjoyable video. I was getting worried for you as you mentioned the seating position, the keyboard warriors poised to pounce on any misinformation πŸ˜‚

Merry Christmas mate, have a good one 🍻

    Hi Ped
Thoroughly enjoyed that πŸ€— Always admired the R8, although I chose Porsche 911 as I wanted a drop top and additional space of 2plus2. If I was to seriously consider an R8 it would have to be Gen1 V8. The looks still to be admired today, more than enough power for road use, and the β€œanalog” features rather refreshing and satisfying. Less can be more.πŸ˜‰

Epic opening sequence worthy of these two epic cars…. Top job Pete πŸ‘πŸ€© … PS where’s the double thumbs up button when you need it πŸ‘πŸ‘

Great vid, as always Pete. The R8 is essentially an Italian Bull in German Lederhosen!! Both sound amazing. Not sure I’d want the black one living next door though with that cold start grunt!! Many thanks to your neighbour for allowing you to play with it!

Happy Xmas, great content this year. I’d have the gen 1 for a weekend toy and bank the difference. The Gen 1 looked better inside as well. The prettiest feature of an alreay beautiful car is that gated shifter. Period.

Great video Pete. Sad to see the end of the R8- what great piece of automotive engineering.

Wishing you, Tracy & the pups a lovely Christmas & thanks once again for entertaining us during the year. Take care
