The government aren’t doing the car industry any favours.

Looking forward to Friday and the Hilux film as I have a soft spot for the Hilux as I used to drive the Estates one where I used to shoot and spent many a night diving about in the spring time lamping foxes with the keepers son over all sorts of terrain including a grouse moor , plowed fields and a river bed.

It’s not just EVs struggling, it’s everything. It’s nothing two do with the government it’s about the amount of misinformation that people are allowed to publish with impunity!

The most striking figure on the SMMT data was diesel dropping to only 5.3% of the car market. Yes, there aren’t many available to buy new, because the manufacturers have ceased production, but that’s a super low figure.

The fuel of Satan! Working in the trade, I wouldn’t entertain a modern diesel for your runaround. Too much has been put on them to make them as clean as possible, but then creates more problems. DPF, EGR and Adblue to name a few.

its not rocket science why new car registrations are down there just too expensive for a lot of people, and yes I know some people will say that most people buy leasing or pcp but when new car prices go up so do these payments.

Ridiculous tax on new cars, and ridiculous finance rates being offered even though we have had several reductions in the Bank of England rate. I am not really surprised that car sales have fallen, as someone thinking of changing my car at the moment both these things have completely put me off changing my car.

Yes – new car taxes are getting out of control now.
VED, Luxury car tax and BIK tax increasing. Getting my exact same car again next year will cost me £150 per MONTH more than now, purely down to all new tax and tax rises. This is on top of VAT @20%, and already being taxed 40% of earnings. Also, the BIK tax is applied on top of the P11D price, which includes VAT, so paying tax on top of tax.

EV’s aren’t killing the motor trade – it’s the amount of tax people are having to pay to get a new car 😬

Ha, I remember when I bought the first Lotus Elise Type 25. It only cost £22k if I recall correctly.

I have spent £114k including £72k on the Emira with the rest on mods and it has been fun on many track days, I hope these special additions are not just collector cars.

New cars are just way to expensive, ridiculous prices, so many over a £100K, read a review on the M4 CS, they are just not selling, so many discounts on them, I think around £130K, even family cars £40K is common, make them smaller, so many you can’t get in a house garage or many public parking spaces, it will only get worse, so many second hand cars are being kept for much longer now.

The new office! Looking smick mate!

As a Lando fan you should be s bit worried about Oscar’s skill and level headed performance. Lando is getting bested, and if it wasn’t for some bad luck in Melbourne the gap would be even wider. Will be great to see Oscar beat that polo pony toff.
