@Watty64 they only get done in small batches, keep a look out. Damian is also doing a twin cup holder as well.

Charging at home on a special tariff overnight we charge ours for around £3.50. It is brilliant for my wifes commute and for round town. I am a big petrolhead, but I really enjoy it. Good stereo too.

Anytime I hear “Alpine” it just makes me pine for an A110 here in the States. Yes, I know it was sadly discontinued and we never even had the chance to spec one here.

As a former owner of an A110, anyone who’s not driven one is missing out. It’s epic

You mention cup holders as an ommission but then there is another surprising one (or two) – no grab handles above the front doors!! Regards, John

Cars being delivered with tyres that aren’t readily available for replacement is way too common these days and is quite frankly ridiculous. Any normal person in normal real world use isn’t going to notice the difference with a ‘specifically designed’ tyre like this over a regular PSS5/PS4S. Not to mention there being loads of great tyres out there from other brands. It’s mostly just a marketing deal so that Michelin and Alpine can charge more for the specific tyres.

Nice review. Luckily I haven’t had a puncture in mine. Had it around 3-4 months and nearing 3,000 miles in it. Whenever I want to go anywhere local, I just jump in the Alpine and terrorise the tarmac in that. Car is on all included salary sacrifice, so we will see if / when it needs tyres. But they should be included anyway.

As for cup holder, I bought an “Audi A6” one from Ali Express. Works fine for around £18 delivered. Fitted with a couple velcro strips. Folds away when not in use, and leaves full access to USB ports and wireless charging. Works for me at least.

I went for the Blue. Not frozen. And am more than happy. Will polish it up in the next week or so, and apply Sofft 99 Fusso Coat 12 month wax. With a view to doing that once or twice a year for the 3 years I’ll have it. Good stuff. I usually ceramic coat my vehicles. And my other two are coated. But then I miss the joy of detailing and trying out other products. So I always try to keep one motor ceramic free for that reason. This time round it’s the Alpine.

14:37 Shouldn’t actually use a cable extender for ev chargers. They can be a fire risk and also drop voltage causing errors/faults for the car and charger so would be careful promoting their use. Best thing to do is have a new longer tethered cable installed that is to code

Classic tyre shop over tightening wheel bolts, the torque wrench didn’t move so already to tight

      @pt99810

No attempt to loosen or retighten bolts carefully using star pattern either. Typical tyre shop.

Better its too tight than too lose and the wheel comes off.

Unfortunately they all do it, just blast them back on with the impact wrench.
I always redo my wheel nut torques after visiting a tyre place, then check it again a week or so later.

@sharonec5419 Over-tightening wheel nuts can be as dangerous as leaving them too loose. Look it up if you don’t believe me 🙂

Looks like that screw had zero road miles on it, I’d be checking my gravel driveway for anymore!

I am sceptical about “OEM tyres” designed specifically for a car. It feels like a money-making exercise with not much discernable benefit to the driver, and just downsides in terms of extra cost and hassle to get replacements.
It’s not like the equivalent non-OEM Michelins will be a bad tyre.
Good work by the maker of the cupholder though.

Stuff the a29 marking, just get the appropriate size, sidewall stiffness and speed rating.
