    Not a fan of these full length light bars but aware it’s very in vogue currently for new car buyers. Will date quickly when it goes out of fashion

    Too bad the larger battery is NMC… I guess next gen LFP and Sodium batteries will be viable in cold conditions. Overall, I am impressed, I think VW are slowly getting their act together.

      Fortunately there is a kind of a workaround, the ID.3 Neo lowest battery is also 52kwh but is LFP.

    Possibly less eye catching than the R5 but far more practical especially when considering the rear and boot space where the R5 is very limited .

      Which is why they made the R4 that has bags more charm than this euro box. VW has a rich history and yet all they can do recently is churn out boring blobs.

      I think the Cupra and Skoda alternatives will out sell this.

      Eh? There certainly weren’t any EVs of this size and cost with 52 kWh batteries in 2016 and those charging speeds are pretty impressive in this sector, even now. Doesn’t sound like you have a clue!

    I see nothing here that would make me buy this over EV2 or R5. The interiors looks improved over ID3 but the battery and charge rates are very poor.

    What is the purpose of light bars apart from causing annoyance/confusion for other drivers? This car has been coming for years, and it’s still not here, nor is the price. The styling is almost identical to the current Polo and that is looking very dated. Frustrating battery choices, limited rear legroom but the interior does look attractive and considered.
