Wookie is still a much loved Electrifier but heโ€™s left the lineup to focus on some other things. Weโ€™ll try to get him on the podcast to catch up with him ๐Ÿ˜Š

Will this be available on podcast apps? Would be great for listening on the go. Also love Mollies (go to the Oxfordshire branch) and understand about not wanting everyone to find out about it! Wish they had one in Kent.

Isnโ€™t Mollies a gem. Theyโ€™re meant to be rolling out into other locations but weโ€™re yet to hear where. Yes, the podcast will go onto all the platforms. We should have that set up by next week. Weโ€™ve been talking about doing this for about two years and this was a last minute โ€˜come on gang, weโ€™re doing it now!โ€™ from me. So we werenโ€™t that prepared! Thanks so much for joining us, hope you become a regular, Ginny

Well that was fun, once you get the hang of addressing remarks specifically to a named person so you don’t talk over each other you’ll be fine.๐Ÿ˜„ I’m teasing, it was fab.๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜

I agree about estates, we always had Skoda estates until the Roomster came along with an even better space. Wanted the Enyaq but the whole car was just too huge for my wife to park in small spaces. Wish they’d bring out an estate that’s big on the inside but not vast on the outside and not too expensive! Reckon the Volvo estate was too good, it kept going for so long you never needed to buy another one. ๐Ÿ˜‚

We bought an Ioniq 38kWh in the end and it’s got an amazing amount of space in the boot. It went in for the coolant and software recall, plus service the other day and they gave me a Kona as a courtesy car.

Nice pale colour inside, all controls similar but I found the seat less comfortable, the doors seemed to come up high on my shoulder before the glass starts making it quite claustrophobic.

The worse thing was the boot! Couldn’t get my walking aid to fit without putting down a back seat, I was astonished! It folds into a neat ‘L’ shape and I can get it in my boot with five bag for life loads of shopping. Even with a seat folded down I could only get one bag in the Kona boot with the walker. Don’t mind SUV’s for the ride height etc but that’s a deal breaker for me. Can’t be folding the seats or there’s nowhere for the lurcher to lounge!๐Ÿพ๐Ÿˆ

To be honest we’re now getting 7m/kWh regularly now so we’re spoilt for any other ev. Struggling to get 5m/kWh would be very upsetting no matter how big the battery and the range. Which is a bit of luck given the negative equity we’re in having had to buy last year at top price because the Roomster got written off.

This podcast piqued my interest, and made me wish I personally knew you folks, as you’re all so pleasant, amiable, and knowledgeable about the EV world. I will say, however, that I’m not a big fan of podcasts, as there are so many of them available now on the topics I follow that I could spend 24/7 trying to tune in to them.

What a lovely comment, thank you! The podcast is basically behind the scenes of one of our morning meetings! I know what you mean about there being lots of podcasts, but we thought weโ€™d give it a go and see how it goes down. Hope you stick with us! And thanks for watching, Ginny

23:10 rather disappointingly, I think those keen deals on iD.3 are for the outgoing model, and I know the new model isn’t offering much more, but being stuck on last gen tech always feels rubbish. That said, its nonsensical that the new iD.3 is ยฃ80-100 more pm on lease than the outgoing car.

New ID.3 on the VW UK Website is currently showing a ยฃ3000 Volkswagen contribution against PCP finance (not sure if it’s all configurations).

What he says… The outgoing car has 0% finance, the new one has 4.9%. But that’s still a lot less than rivals such as the MG4 (8.9%)

A top job everyone! I think the proposed name really hits the spot for the podcast. Lots of interesting thoughts with regard to touch sliders (not a fan in a big way) and different cars from the same parent company as well. Confession time, I do not own an EV yet and it may be a little time before I do but who knows? Certainly over the last few years it has been a bit of a volatile market from wait lists in the region of years to much shorter lead times along with market disruptors who introduce a model at a more affordable price that arguably may have caused a reduction of retail prices in existing models. Anyway a top job by all. Tom, was that an old GPO bell telephone in the back ground, these are a classic phones that do not require a battery or plug in power supply.
