    Wasn’t Tesla supposed to launch something similar 10 years ago? This looks great, very Lotus Emira to side profile

      Yes, but you should know by now that Musk is a compulsive liar, and you can’t trust anything that he says. He even claimed that it would have rocket boosters at one point. He also said that Tesla’s would be able to drive themselves within a year a decade ago and repeated that lie every year driving the share price ever higher because for some reason people still believe him.

    Really nice that, would be good if they made something that looked like that but without the ridiculous power. 500 would be fine

      The cost to do 1366 is very worth it just for PR market over 500hp. It’s not massive more expensive for this luxury car sector. It you want 500hp just use the low power mode.

      It’s heavy, mate. 911 Turbo S could reach 100km within 2.7 secs with around 700 hp, this could only do 0.5 secs less with almost double the hp, with 500hp it might barely make it within 5 secs.😂

      As it’s a BYD, you’ll most likely only get 300-400bhp in the default eco town mode with very gentle intelligent (adaptive depending on your surroundings) throttle mapping.

      EVs, or some ICE cars with throttle by wire are really easy to drive

    Well, if BYD is trying to establish themselves as a serious car brand, they need to be in every segment and this covers a non profitable, yet meaningful slice of the car industry. European manufacturers must be quacking in their boots. Thanks for the video.

      The current Design Director of the BYD group is Wolfgang Egger, so I was not surprised when I saw the front face and the headlights. The taillights tho, which this lady did not know, is the original design of BYD’s another sub brand, Formula, that inspired by the logo of it, and this model is actually “borrowed” by Denza from Formula, somehow they kept the taillight design.

      Very, obviously! Jonny Ive created a phone that was a screen with a few buttons, the laziest design ever, and simply design following function with absolutely no actual effort or flair. The Apple fanboys jizzed their pants, and Ferrari waited a few years, said design me a car. The fanboys will still stain the seats, while everyone else just doesn’t get it, and the fanboys will say people just don’t get it, but at 500k, very few people outside of Silicon Valley, and the arsehats that have to be “different” will care.

    So many opportunities to have a fast car, if it is electric. Which has to be a positive point to the new wave of vehicles being made. Still love the sound of some ICE vehicles, but also love and admire the new tech being made.

    As a Brit who moved to China and owns a BYD Group product (Fangchengbao Bao-8), I’m looking forward to buying one of these as a second car next year, provided the price is right

    The UK price starts at £143k for the coupe, and £172k for the hardcore track version. But it’d be interesting to see the Chinese prices, considering the 2026 Denza Z9GT sells for around £37k in China, but £110k in the UK.

    If it’s around 450-550k rmb, it’ll simply be irresistible for someone who has always aspired to owning a supercar. And there are a lot of great cars in China for 400-550k rmb (YU7GT, Su7 ultra, Zeekr 9X hyper, Nio ES9)

    BTW, that dual fridge/heating compartment (-6 to 50C) is a very common BYD feature. My car has one, and so do cars in the 190k rmb+ price range. It’s pretty useful tbh in the scorching Hangzhou heat in the summer.

    PS: You’ve missed the Fangchengbao sub-brand of BYD, which was originally their dedicated off-road brand, but has evolved into their trendy, eccentric, personalised sporty/lifestyle brand targeting a younger demographic. Fangchengbao will be releasing their own supercar next year, currently named the Formula X. It’ll be even more hardcore than this with a full carbon fibre chassis, and next gen battery + powertrain technology

    1. @cheungchingtong Avatar
      @cheungchingtong

      I doubt it would be that “cheap” even in Chinese market tho, probably ranges from 800,000 to 900,000. The BYD management did told some auto journalists earlier this year, that this is the model that Denza aims to compete with Porches’ 911 series. And by the bold decision of selling it overseas before China, I think they are indeed not gonna make it “too cheap” but make it high-end, cause in the super car/sport car section, many Chinese buyers are still trapped in the “foreign influence”, that only if foreign buyers recognize this is a good car, then it could be a good car.🤣

    2. @Bo_Hazem Avatar

      The Fangchengbao here releases as Denza in GCC market. So your car is Denza B8 but here comes with 2 extra cooling fans and a battery cooling system to suit the hot weather, as well as B5 (Leopard 5 or Bao-5). Funny enough the Bao-7 is released as BYD Ti7 here not a Denza and priced extremely competitively for how much features it has.

      @cheungchingtong800k puts it up to Yangwang territory, unlikely for anything with a Tengshi badge. The FCB Formula X will most likely be in the 700k-1 million rmb territory. More than the Tengshi Z, less than a Yangwang U9, which will probably receive a major refresh or replacement

      BYD’s main usp are insane specs for the price.

    5. @energiam880 Avatar
      @energiam880

      @B@Bo_Hazemp, in China Denza sells the N9 SUV, which is similarly priced to the Bao-8, but is more luxury, on road performance/comfort orientated.

      Denza is kind of like the Lexus brand of BYD. FCB used to be their Land Cruiser division (if it was some kind of sub brand).

      Which is why it’s a little funny to see FCB sold as Denzas overseas, mostly due to its awkward name. But their general brand image and logo is really cool. So is their enormous merchandise/accessories catalogue.

      @c.f.7493different for the sake of it, can’t see it. A Ferrari, infact a supercar should be a thing for pinning up on a kids wall. Koeniggsegg and Pagani get it, Ferrari usually get it, plus others, no a car that has been compared to a Nissan Leaf for half a million just shows a lack of effort. The F80 is different looking but a pin up, the Luce is only different because it doesn’t look like a Ferrari, but is actually that generic that it isn’t different at all.

      But it won’t, because people already look at people with V8 Range Rovers, and Mr’s, and say, why? Anyone who has over 4 or 5 hundred bhp that they will never use are just overcompensating, and we all know the guy in a 10 year old Fiesta ST is having more fun. Can see EV haters just looking, thinking, oh it doesn’t look bad for a Chinese car, then walking off and forgetting about it.
