    Loved that start and why did Nicola not commit to wearing the Ali G throughout the video. Well done for doing this and it certainly matched the car well.

    I think the plastics in the Mini are a real let down. For a small car that is very expensive I would expect more. The plastic door handles are awful. I looked at the Renault last week. Interior is amazing. I think I would choose it over the Mini.

    The Renault 5 really is the stand out, after driving it last week, it’s fun, good looking, nippy and you can really throw it round corners and it’s pretty practical as well. I hope it does well, I can’t wait to get one.

    Wow, the Mini and the Fiat suddenly look like dull Toyota thingies parked next to the Renault…
    And not an SUV in sight, joy of joys! I actually really liked the lipstick indicator stalk thingy, and I’m a bloke!

    1. @Electrifyingcom Avatar
      @Electrifyingcom

      Isn’t it fun to see cool small cars – we don’t need any more SUVs! And agreed on the lipstick thing – we think its cute too!

    2. @johnknight9150 Avatar
      @johnknight9150

      @@Electrifyingcom I don’t know if this means anything (or if it’s just ignorant misogyny!), but from a bloke’s perspective, school run SUVs are like wearing old pyjama tracksuit clothes to the supermarket. I get that they’re comfy, but they’re so frumpy and unattractive. But hatchbacks like these, they’re the little black dress. Get yourself a “Mustang” (cough) Mach-E and you’ll repel blokes, get yourself the Renault and you’ll be fighting them off!

    The Renault 5 wins on every metric.

      Except fitting in my 1980s garage. The Fiat might just go in, the other two won’t.

    2. @grahamcook9289 Avatar
      @grahamcook9289

      @@owensmith7530 Are UK garages any bigger these days? They have always been too narrow to drive into and open any door wide enough to exit/enter the vehicle, except for the smallest cars. Most people as a result just use them as storage or convert them into an extra room if integral to the house. As it happens, I can just squeeze my VW Up! into my garage, at an angle, that allows me to open the driver’s door.

    3. @owensmith7530 Avatar
      @owensmith7530

      @ Far less UK houses are built with garages these days, partly due to government legislation forcing developers to provide very little parking with each house. But when garages are built they are a lot wider due to legislation requiring enough space for a wheelchair user to be able to get out of their car and get the wheelchair out of the back seat behind the driver. The fact those garages take a lot more space up is another reason why less of them are built now. In my garage I have some carpet screwed to the wall so I can open my car door safely without damaging it. My 1990 Renault 5 GT Turbo fitted easily in my garage, and it had a decent amount of space inside the car so I don’t understand why cars have got so enormous. My 2002 Mini Cooper S I have owned since new is a considerably tighter fit in my garage, and yet bizarrely provides less interior space for both the driver and in the boot than the Renault 5. What is all that space being wasted on?

    I get full one pedal driving in Range mode in my 500. I never use Sherpa mode, I think it is just for when the battery is almost empty. Still love it after three and a half years.

    I had a rummage around a R5 when I took my zoe in for a service last week. Lovely car but I thought it felt quite claustrophobic especially when in the drivers seat.
