    For sure i love the colour, as it contrasts better with bright silver or Chrome rims as the car has. I hate dark coloured rims, makes the wheel look dirty like it covered in grease or oil stains. Great video madame Vicky. Much respect for such a great Channel. Cheers.

    I think that the little mascot isnt a problem, not even worth picking on. It maybe a culture or a generational difference, but keep in mind they build this car for their people first in mind. Its marketed as a budget car, not a premium for your own personal preference.

      Yeah, and considering this car model is currently the 2nd best selling car in China (behind only the Geely EX2) I think leapmotor might be onto something here.

    In NZ the 40kWh/176 hp version costs £16,370 and the 53kWh/197hp version costs £18,500.
    Australia is often cheaper again but no Aussie price at this stage.
    Somebody ( Stellantis?) is padding the price in the UK.

      N.B. Both versions have the same 8.6sec 0-100 accel time and same charging time. If just for around town maybe the smaller battery less powerful one will be better.

      Maybe, but even then the 39kWh version is definitely for sale in Europe, as its on the market in Denmark. And the price here is 149.990kr, which makes it the 3rd cheapest EV in the country! Only beaten by the Renault Twingo Evolution 27.5kWh (146.990kr) and the Citroën ëC3 You! 30kWh (139.999kr), and just barely overtaking the BYD Dolphin Surf Active 30kWh (149.995kr). It is basically the new king of value for money in the ultra cheap segment and is the only car around the 150.000kr price point to get anywhere close to 300km of WLTP range.

    Nice interior materials on the doors, seats and dashboard. A bit minimalistic on the steering wheel and everything is jammed packed into the infotainment screen. No flappy paddles for regenerative breaking and it’s doesn’t bring you to a halt which means ‘No One Pedal Driving’, oh dear, we know the team and particularly 2 certain presenters won’t like that. I don’t see why they’d put the recharge port on the front side, I think it’s better being on the rear side like a conventional petrol filler port. In spite of all this, I do love the chunkiness of the exterior of the car. Thank you Vickki.!

    If they could reduce charging time from 25 to 15 minutes that would make a huge difference in my opinion and make the limited range far less of a hassle.

    On range, how many live happily with the 40kwh Leaf at 150 mile range, or Hyundai Ioniq electric 38.3kw with 180+ mile range? So over 220 miles is well enough range

    The Electrifying team of presenters are the best roster out there – great review from Vicky. I like all the Leapmotors so far – generally I’d just like to see them with lower list prices as the lease deals can be great but you have to seek them out where a cheaper price would attract more buyers.

    Leapmotor were the best deal I could find for monthly payments. I got the B05 at 0% APR, £196 a month over four years, although I did put my old 15-plate Golf in as the deposit.

    P.S. I like how the B05 drives. It feels smooth and really planted, with very little lean through corners. The 50/50 weight distribution and rear wheel drive make it feel nicely balanced, and it pivots into corners well.

    I have been waiting for this review. The prices for the Leapmotor B03X dropped in Denmark a while ago, and it is mindblowingly cheap. Especially the entry version. Now that features a 39kWh battery with a WLTP range of 292km. Which is a bit on the low side. But heres the kicker. That version costs only 149.990kr! That makes it one of the cheapest EVs on the market here, period! It costs the same as the base trim of the BYD Dolphin Surf, which is a smaller car with only 220km of range, or almost the exact same as the cheapest Renault Twingo, with 263km of range.

    The fact you can get a Hyundai Kona sized car (which for comparison starts at 214.999kr same for the Ford Puma) for that price is crazy. And frankly for someone that doesnt drive far on the regular and can live with having to recharge after 160km on the motorway around once a year, then that range on the cheapest version is really acceptable. Especially if the charge time figures hold up in practice.

    Even when comparing trim levels, the most expensive version of the Leapmotor B03X, the Design, costs 189.990kr here. Which is the same as the very cheapest possible Skoda Epiq, or the very cheapest possible Renault 5. The Renault 4 starts from 199.990kr here. So the B03X really has no competition that is this cheap. Not only in terms of space, but in terms of range, size, equipment, it is unparalleled. Heck even just speaking of cars available with close to 300km of range, this is the cheapest one by a landslide. The cheapest other car with a range around that is the Citroën ëC3 in the VTR Sport trim that gets 315km from a 44kWh battery, which starts at 164.999kr.

    The warranty for Leapmotor is frankly subpar. Considering how almost every company on the danish market has at least 5 years of warranty, the 4 by Leapmotor is just not a lot. The only competitor that has a lower warranty is Tesla, which has a max kilometer limit thats 20.000km lower.

    And while the Leapmotor is really cool, I do prefer physical buttons a bit more. Thankfully Leapmotor and MG are in a price war, and I have no doubt that the upcoming MG2 will end up in practice as a direct competitor to this. And when both of those are out I’d be excited to compare.
