3:44 would of been more beneficial for the consumer if the engineers put a spare wheel well inside.

Nobody knows how to change a wheel. 😂 they’ll notice more boot space though.

They should have put more battery cells in that space!

@@sbomorse definitely, the leases on this are going to be horrible. Used EV’s are priced on range above all else.

I have the petrol Puma from 2024 and have the spare wheel option in the mega box. Doubt I can change the wheel but when my Kuga had a bad puncture the first thing the great AA guy asked was did I have a spare! Much more convenient!

Honestly I feel this car is such a miss from Ford. It’s mid 2025 and there are so many good ground-up electric vehicles to choose from and here’s Ford whacking in a battery to a petrol car. The range isnt good enough at under 200 miles real world range. The rear seats are even worse than the petrol variant and it starts at 30k. Mental!

They have several cars that’s Full electric from the ground up. They made the puma electric to become the cheapest electric car they sell. Also the puma has been the best selling car the last few years so they didn’t want to change a winning formula

@@bryanrae7050I guess the issue is, they’ve made the car worse for 5k more than the petrol version. For 30k, you can get the Skoda Elroq, Kia EV 3 or even the MG S5. All of which offer better range, interiors and practicality.

@@strollingwithsiIt’s all subjective, those cars you mentioned might not be to some people’s taste. Personally im not looking at electric cars for a long time as the depreciation on them is shocking just now

Agreed. Jim Farley also mentioned a few months ago they were setting up a skunk works to nail efficiency as all legacy makers were too slow on catching up. Still waiting ….. merc look to be first to catch up with the new CLA after a slow start

@bryanrae7050 not as bad as the daily mail would have you believe. However the market is flooded after big incentives from a company car point. As the saying goes…..buy an appreciating asset, rent a deprecating asset. Yet were still obsessed by buying

I’ve seen a few of the Puma Gen E on the road think it was launch day.
Just looks bland from the other range of Puma.
The interior looks cheap the scratchy plastics have not gone away.
The real world range is only going to be 150 miles.
The electric Puma is a disappointment

I remember watching the PUMA St review a few years back. It was enthusiastic, exciting and fun. Now look at this. And this is across the board for all mid range evs. I know its inevitable what’s happening, but the future look dull.

Why not get a child to demonstrate the rear seat space? its highly unusual to see an adult in the back (unless its a taxi). Why do you never do any “around town” efficiency test which is 95% of journeys and more efficient for EVs, long journeys are generally the exception.

Thank you for the review and not a bad car if the price was lower as i would rather have the Renault 5 in my eyes and that is £8,000 cheaper and looks nicer too . I think it possibly not as competitive because its not a ground up built ev .

Ford are coming to the marketplace a little late and Renault and Kia offer better value for money.

Quick summary as reported here – the WLTP Combined Range is 233 miles, later in this review after a bit of driving suggests real-world (non-motorway) range would be 195 miles. God know why the WLTP figure is always emphasised first. A good point made in video, this Puma facelift does away with the physical climate controls for touch-screen icons.

I think I’m not regretting getting Hyundai Inster over Ford Puma Gen-E. Ford missed the chance to make a proper EV platform for it and make it great drivers car.

I’m honestly baffled why manufacturers keep using piano black. Nobody likes it or wants it. I can only guess it must be dirt cheap, and that’s the reason. Any sight of it is an immediate no from me. Hate the stuff so much, and wish it would just go away.

Lordy. So Ford killed off the wonderful Focus and Fiesta and now only serves up mediocre SUVs.

That the reviewer previously awarded “car of the year” to an ugly SUV requires a level of cognitive dissonance I didn’t think was possible

43kwh battery should be acceptable only for A segment cars like the Fiat 500 or Renault twingo. 50 should be the bare minimum for B segment cars like this one and 60 for C segment.

Why don’t they have people review small cars that are the average UK height of around 5ft 10 ? Ridiculous seeing nearly every journo needing to mention I’m 6ft and front seat is set for me and they don’t have much room in the back😅. It’s like between they don’t have anything original to say and rinse and repeat others

You could get an MG4 long range for 6k less, I cant believe people are paying 30k plus for what is essentially a fiesta, it’s madness.

Good review as usual – though no mention of battery type (LFP or NMC), which is an important aspect when considering purchase.

As someone who’s been driving for over forty years, I don’t usually comment, but here goes…
Who’d have thought one of the central discussion points about a new car would be range & charging time?!
I’m no EV hater, but in my prime driving days, nobody commented on these two issues.
    It says something about BEV’s.
I can only hope that if/when solid state batteries arrive, car reviews won’t focus on range & charging time, just like they used to with decades of ICE cars.
Here come the negative comments 😬🙈🙉 😂
