    Overall the changes seem positive, looks a lot better and more substantial on the outside and the inside. Albeit they used cheaper plastics, the inside looks really good and interesting and with Journey spec having good tech included this does seem like more of a rounded solid package. For people that want a cheaper EV, with a decent sized boot and surprisingly good passenger space for its footprint and only need it to do smaller city trips etc I think this will be more appealing than the current spring has been. I think it would even feel more settled and comfortable on the motorway than the current one does too, more planted.

    I’m not a fan of small cars but this is probably the best looking Dacia Spring to date, almost as good as the Kia Picanto?

      The 100kw version of the Spring because it’s smaller, and someone is bound to buy this new, worse version that’s larger and has no benefits making the older better ones available second hand.

    Looks way better that the 1st generation but needed a bigger battery to attract buyers. As the reviewer said, you can buy a used EV for the same money with much bigger range and faster charging.

      If it gets the full grant, then £14k for a brand new small EV is pretty good. Against that you’d get a 2 year old Stellantis clone super-mini, all much of a muchness (I ran an e208 for three years). All okay cars and would do about 150-180 miles in normal use.

      I guess it will come down to the finance/discount deals on these.

      Sure but that’s not what they were trying to do here. They wanted to keep the battery size small to also keep the weight low and so make the car more efficient. The comparison with used EVs is also a bit unfair – of course you can find great deals if you’re willing to buy used, but that’s not a weakness of the Spring specifically.

    The spring is doing what so many cars over the years. Longer and wider and then in a few years a different named smaller car comes in because the original has moved up a segment.

    I don’t know if 80bhp will give me confidence to go up a hill in Surrey.

    Can you still get it with practical steel wheels and high profile tyres? Shame it’s wider than the original and please stop speaking as if ‘SUV like’ is a good thing it isn’t to many customers.

    I feel I’m better off with my Spring extreme 100. It has more horsepower, is narrower, has a real handbrake, a real key, proper rear windows and the new one only gains 15 miles range. Mine has faster charging as standard, not as an extra.
