As an Alabamian I feel you about the baby names. I guess there are regions of England somehow vaguely culturally corresponding to American regions.

Woohoo you’re back!! I’m sitting in a 7X AWD these days but am very excited about the new Polestars and could easily see myself in a 4 wagon or even in the new 2. Meanwhile I love my new 7X, awesome vehicle to do another lap of Australia. Look forward to more Kilowatt half (full) hours!

The only new Polestar is the Polestar 5 and that thing is massively overpriced. Mercedes AMG GT 4-Door Coupe will be much better than the Polestar 5.
If you mean the boring upgrades regarding the infotainment system? Those are last gen Nvidia chips so the tech will feel significantly slower over the years compared to the more modern Chinese EVs and also compared to the BMWs “Neue Klasse” platform etc.
The Zeekr 7X is a nice car, congratulations.

At least you have not broken the format of a 30-minute podcast that lasts longer than 30-minutes! Well done all, great to see the podcast return.

I liked the BYD Seal when I test drove it until I realised that unless I played with my children’s golf clubs there was no way on earth my golf bag was getting in that daft shaped boot. The boot has probably been made bigger by unlocking some of the width and removing whatever was blocking space over the wheel arches.
Too late as I went for the VW ID7 Tourer and actually glad I did as the only issue is being a short arse I have to climb into the boot if anything goes too far back !

Just to add, last year, summer 2025, for the first time in forever, I sent postcards to people while I was on holiday.
The feedback I had was amazing, people just loved receiving them. We should ALL send cards, they are fun!!

I have been a big fan of Polestar since the beginning, have had a little go in the Polestar 4 was such a nice drive, although very wide and with our UK local roads being pretty narrow, it’s was a little …nerv racking at times haha.

I used the Scottish EV grants to make the switch to EVs 6yrs ago now and used their grants to cover 75% of my charger installation as well, they definitely made my switch to full electric easier and much more affordable.

On the ADAS tired face recognition thing, I think there should be a calibration option to set your natural resting/concentration face, so it knows what you look like normally. So rather than saying you are tired it knows that this is the normal state.

In fact, every time you get in the car, it should blooming say how amazing you are looking today, so you set off in a good mood and hopefully will be more considerate to fellow drivers. This is assuming they don’t add a sarcastic mode, where it says ‘you look amazing’ in that tone where you are left unsure.

How wonderful to see you all back!!!! Totally agree on your Merc comments Nic – their interiors are not great feeling at the lower end of their ranges – and a bit too ‘Las Vegas’ for me! Polestar 4 wagon though – yes PURLEASE!!! I’ve got the ‘coupe’ – it’s a brilliant if idiosyncratic thing – but I’d have taken the wagon with even less hesitation!

Thanks for picking my question from your virtual postbag and taking the time to try and answer… Lets see if Ginny’s prediction is right, and sorry vicky, whilst the id 7 is a lovely car it doesn’t drive like my mondeo, and doesn’t encourage you take the twisty way home… let the debates begin..
