I guess they are not giving us the 4 seater because they know we have more friends in the UK, so need the extra seat.
I think it is a missed opportunity not to provide the 4 seater option, I found it really appealing to be able to slide the seats, it was one of the features of the Smart #1 that I really liked.

Is it not a regression that the range hasn’t increased in 10 years?

For 280 miles of range it cost £40k you can now easily get more for less, such as 375 mile ev3 for £39K?

Not really, 280 mile range for the Soul was good at the time. And Kia have realised that is good enough for most people. They have chosen instead to reduce the price.
