Suzuki is very late to the electrical cars and truck celebration, and this is its very first automobile. The e Vitara is a compact SUV of simply under 4.3 m long, total with either a 49- or 61kWh LFP battery that will use a WLTP series of up to 243 miles, while the smaller sized battery is likely to manage near to 200 miles.

It's based on the 'HEARTECT-e' platform, which is a devoted electric car platform that Suzuki has established with Toyota and Daihatsu. There'll be a variety of power outputs, too. The smaller battery, front-wheel drive e Vitara getting 142bhp, while you'll have the ability to get the larger battery with either front- or four-wheel drive with 172- or 181bhp respectively.

The Suzuki e Vitara is simply under 4.3 m long, 1.8 m broad and 1.63 m high, making it smaller sized than family vehicles like the VW ID.3, and spot on for a host of competitors varying from the Jeep Avenger, Renault 4 E-Tech and Citroen e-C3 Aircross, to slightly costlier and longer-range options like the Kia 3 and Skoda Elroq.

The e Vitara is a compact electrical SUV of just under 4.3 m long, total with either a 49- or 61kWh LFP battery; that's similar tech to what you'll discover in BYD vehicles, and is extremely common in a variety of mainstream electrical cars.

Those battery alternatives will suggest that the e Vitara will manage a WLTP variety of as much as 243 miles from the bigger battery. Variety from the smaller battery hasn't been confirmed, but it's most likely to be around 200-miles. That's not far off what you get in the Jeep Avenger and Renault 4 E-Tech, but the Kia 3 and Skoda Elroq go a lot even more.

Quick charging speeds peak at 150kW, however Suzuki declares a charging time of 30-minutes from 15- to 70 percent charge, which suggests a slower typical charging time than some competitors that declare a 10-80% charge of similar-sized batteries in the exact same time

Join Nicola as she has a look around the new Suzuki e Vitara. Will it be on your shortlist when it gets here next year? Let us understand in the comments listed below.

Don’t knock the back of the car. It has a rear wiper!

It has some slightly (new model) Dacia Duster looks…. The brown interior looks good. Audi did a study decades ago, and it found shades of brown in car interiors promoted a more relaxing feeling while you drove….. Make of that what you will…. There didn’t appear to be any under knee/under thigh support when you sat in the back Nicola. I can’t imagine it being too comfortable on longer trips….

I guess maybe you could argue the floor is high because they’ve added extra shielding for the battery when off-roading? But man, niche car company makes car with niche appeal.

It appears Suzuki has copied Toyota’s homework and produced an EV that is already behind the curve even before it’s been launched. Sounds like they plan to sit back, watch the sales not hit their internal target and then claim that EVs don’t sell so they’re sticking to hybrids…..
Sorry, I’ve got my cynical hat on 😅

Funny thing is this car is based on the same platform as Toyota’s next EV.

The boot is smaller because it’s made with 4WD (rear motor taking up space)

Its boot is still like 30 litres smaller than my Volvo V40, which is a much smaller car. I’d expect closer to 400 litres

Wait a minute, for a run of the mill family SUV I actually think that’s a really smart looking car. It has some rather unique lines and creases that actually work really well together, the front and rear light signature gives the car a more upmarket look too. Even more surprising, the interior looks fairly premium also! Fair play Suzuki, fair play. Shame about the small boot and not so great range figures though, bit of a let down there.

An electric Jimny would be a mayor succes.💰💰💰
Many people buy the Jimny because of its looks not because they are offroaders.
Many of us would buy a Jimny EV as a daily driver.
