      Cars always have some quirky gimmick , I’ve never used the self parking feature on any of my cars, my latest EV has a virtual fireplace..I looked at it and have never used it since. .it’s just weirdness for ppl who like that sort of thing 🤷

    I wonder why it took so long to bring the EV5 to Europe? It’s been on sale in countries like Australia for a good while now.

      @Kurre. I mean I guess, but plenty of other brands are still bringing China made cars to Europe while they’re building production capability elsewhere so they’re not missing out on market share, even if it’s more expensive for a bit.

      They wanted to win world car of the year for 3 years in a row, plus don’t steal sales from the EV9 which is their premium model and highest margin car for sure.

    Really interesting to see the difference between the made in China vs Korean models. In particular, no love seat in the front! Not really sure why the difference (no fridge, table, NMC battery etc, as I would imagine a single type would make sense? There are even slight differences in the NZ to Aus market.
    But, I’m glad we get the LFP version in Oz. Buying one this year!

    We’ve got an Australian RHD Earth (mid-spec, 4WD) EV5 and the only thing that I dislike about it is that it’s not as efficient as out Kona: 18-20 kWh/100km vs about 14. But it’s got all the mod cons, except for memory driver’s seat position.

    On the subject of SUV proliferation I’m curious why there isn’t more of a push for estate/sportback/sw type cars from manufacturers.I know SUV’s are in fashion but I would have thought the lower profile of the estate shape would help with efficiency and range which is also a big selling point. Maybe aerodynamics is not such a big factor as I imagined.

      I think it’s easier for the SUV style when they bung batteries under the floor. Personally think it’s awful.

      ⁠look at the ID.3, T-Roc size on the outside, Golf height on the inside (though there is a bit more leg room).

      I got a family SUV, you get the most space for the most compact footprint. I would rather have an MPV though, but in the UK, hardly any are sold. Totally didn’t get it until I had kids though. Initially thought I’d get an estate, but when I tried them all out, the SUV made the most sense.

    A lot of interesting Kia facts, thank you. I was particularly struck by pet mode especially as a relative managed to cook a couple of whippets in her car a few weeks ago. Like someone has already commented this is of no use in our household without 4WD and towing >2,200 kgs. The other thing which struck me, and more manufacturers should do, is tuning the suspension for local market road conditions. Personally I do not mind a bit of plastic in a working car, so that is not an issue. The potential pricing in the UK should find plenty of buyers.

    As a tall driver it makes me quite sad to see a car as this.
    Potentially its a great car, the A-pillars point more upwards than backwards, a rare sight in todays streamlined WLTP focused world.

    The headroom seem to be great and the EV5 should be a perfect car for a tall person but for some strange reason the engineers put a huge sensor cluster in the windscreen.
    For the less tall ppl this means that your front view gets blocked and you wont be able to tell if a car approaching an intersection is staying put or is actually driving into the intersection, its really dangerous.

    The latest Kona is much the same, maybe its even the same sensor cluster, another example is the Mercedes EQB, both cars got plenty of room for tall drivers, a rare sight these days but ruined by that huge sensor cluster.

    If you feel that im ranting please understand that in todays car world its quite hard for a tall person to find normal car that will fit. I wish Euro NCAP looked into this, whats the point in making a huge car that will fit tall drivers but then block their view?

    This is definitely the most safe design of Kias EV lineup, aint a bad thing and it definitely does look cool in the light blue colour the EV3 has

    Great price, but just wish the range was better. This would be great for my job as a sales rep but just wish the range would be more not the 329 or 280 real life. Shame really.

    I drive one in a heavily congested city in Colombia, and whenever I’m stuck in traffic, I turn on the nature sounds and activate the electric seat massage — it truly helps me unwind 😄

    Really like the KIA design language. It’s not one grill does all and yet there is a continuity to the EV range. Despite not being a huge fan of the SUV I do really like the look of these! Good work KIA
