    I prefer the EV9, it looks retro, boxy, makes a bold statement and looks funky.

      Styling is subjective, but the EV9 looks like a tipped refrigerator. This one at least has some curves.

    Looks good, I like that its really different from the EV 9 and not a copy and paste job of the SantaFe, looks like it has loads of space inside including the 3rd row with the usual Ioniq interior design, like the layout and ideas theynhave used on all 3 rows. I have one of the original Ioniq5’s and it is interesting to see the amount of interior cross overs that have been used and evolved.

      The colour, tail lights and shoulder are 100% what a 3rd generation V70 could’ve been.

    It looks like you’ve been miniaturized next to the EV3 or the Inster. Love it.

    this just reminds me of an 80’s volvo estate that jacked up, it tall but the side profile is very volvo estate, but this isnt a bad thing in the slightest for me personally, as the BMW its up against is UGLY and the newer volvos well are ok, if just a little bland for me!! hyundai ioniq range now seem to have 3 throw back feel as the 5 is integrale esque, the 6 is a bit old citreon GS esque and now this with its older volvo look, not saying its a bad thing. they definitely have someone trying very hard to appease say the GEN X group of drivers, by giving us older looking cars with a nice modern twist .

    Brilliant… for large families… sports teams… shuttles. Sure beats other 3-row competitors. Range fanatics will be impressed. Power nuts will love it. IF they can afford it.

      @@darrenaitcheson795 Exactly, and some laptops have 2 way USB-C now so you can charge in via a double ended USB-C.

    Not a fan of the rear end, the shape reminds me of a mid 2000s MPV in the worst way. Also the horizontal strips above the wheel arches look a bit bizarre and out of place imo. Definitely prefer the boxier styling of the EV9, to each their own I suppose.

    A really beautiful car. I’m 100% going to get one when the lease ends on my current car, Vauxhall mokka-e . I want one because of the space at the back for my two dogs, monty and Chester.

    I would be happy to use camera side view mirrors if they provide better visibility in the rain and during nights on roads that don’t have streetlights

      @WheelieTheCapper

      I have digital mirrors on my Ioniq 5… It must be said that there is nothing really wrong with ordinary mirrors that digital mirrors fix but … They are absolutely brilliant in bad weather as they do got get wet impacting visibility, can’t say they are better at night as headlights from cars behind still produce glare … Took about two minutes to get used to them … Would have no issues with them being on a future vehicle for me (similarly, wouldn’t have any issues with normal mirrors either).

      @@WheelieTheCapperHow’s depth perception? I drove a car that had a digital rearview mirror fitted and I couldn’t for the life of me tell how far a thing is… Maybe it’s just me.

      @WheelieTheCapper

      @xalataf3365  Can’t say I’ve had any issues… I wear glasses anyway so maybe not the best judge… If they came as part of a pack or standard on top trim, then yippee but if they were an added expensive option, then stick with standard mirrors

    The back spoils it. Makes it feels like Volvo estate/stationwagon. The EV9 feels much more like an authoritative SUV!

    It really remind me of the Volvo VCC from the rear end, and those lights remind me of a Volvo too. I need to get out more.

    Ginny, you asked for anyone who loves the digital side-view cameras to let you know. I have them on my 2025 IONIQ 5 and they are excellent. They do take a little bit of getting used to, but after a week of owning the new car they are really excellent at night, way better than normal mirrors as you can adjust their brightness so that they are much clearer in poor weather and in the dark. The digital rear-view mirror is also much better than the conventional mirror.

    As for the IONIQ 9, I loved your review and can’t wait to see it in the metal when it arrives in the UK. I have dropped a strong hint with my dealer to get me an invite to their UK unveiling next year. As you will have gathered by now from my previous comments you have read out, I am a big fan of Hyundai and I think they’ve done it again. Can’t wait for your driving review of the IONIQ 9 in due course. Keep up the great work. By the way, tell Mike he will love the new IONIQ 5. Chris D

    Perfect timing, my Wrangler 4xe lease ends next year, I’ll be getting this car for family trips.
    I was considering an R1S but after watching a video where most body shops were asking for 40k+ to fix the rear quarter panel turned me off instantly.
