A few months earlier, Suzuki took us to an ice rink in Milan– no really – to reveal us the brand-new, . We gave it a bit of a cool reception as a few of the sums didn't really accumulate. Today it's back in Britain and the Suzuki peeps promise they've done their homework this time. We're going to drive it and see if it qualifies.

You’re totally right, that asimmetrical console is a big no.

Pretty much the same answer as to why Suzuki and Subaru don’t do fun, exciting or even interesting cars anymore, Toyota bean counters.

Strange to consider the interior door pull handle as storage but dismiss the frunk as unnecessary, which is actually a really useful storage area for charging cables. 🤷‍♂

Can you imagine if Suzuki accepted its amazing heritage of iconic small 4×4 designs, and used it in recent designs like Renault and Fiat did with the 5 E-tech and Grande Panda?

Only Nicola can brighten up a review on a rather dull car.

This car is Suzuki’s way of competing with Chinese competitors in the Indian EV market. In Europe, they are just trying to show that they are doing EVs. Toyota is adding this model to their EV lineup.

Dammed with faint (but totally true) praise. There are so many other better options out there. You’d have to be mad to pay more than 20K for this

The pocket is on one seat only for a reason. It’s called a map pocket. And it’s opposite the driver so they can reach back and get maps.
Old fashioned I know, but still correct.

The price is certainly going to be 30k +. The normal Vitara starts at £27,299 and is going to be more expensive than that. I don’t mind it, its a nice chunky conservative design. It’ll certainly be trouble free compared with anything from Stellantis. Wished they wouldn’t use dark headlining though, makes it look so dark inside.

Nicola and Jack Scarlett from Fully Charged should start their own channel as a double act. They’re the only reviewers I’m aware of who can liven up reviews of otherwise fairly dull cars.

    I definitely like Nicolas style.
There is something I’ve to say tho. Suzuki is a small brand ant there is something they got right and might be thought as budget cutting. The fact they kept some mechanisms as simple as they could mean they are not gonna break (or at least will be cheaper to repair) than other competitors. The sunroof´s screen is a good example of thing that can go wrong and be a massive problem. Doesnt open means doesnt leak. Manual screen means no mechanism to fail. Yes, looks cheap. But also means it´s not going to be a long term problem for 99% of human beings that have no idea that a car is a machine and it actually need mantainance on every system it has apart from the basic services.

Of course I use the frunk. For charging cables, washer fluid, spare headlight lamps, some tools etc. Not that I use those every day, but the stuff doesn’t take up space in the boot, and it is where I need it. Kona BTW.

Frunk! I would never buy a car without it. Perfect for wet shoes, clothes, takeaway (residual smell), roadtrips and storing cables and chargers.

Suzuki builds it in India and developed the car, Toyota developed the e axle. The Urban Cruiser will start at 29.900 Euros (25.609,35 GBP) and the ADAC (General German Automotive Club, our AA) expects the Vitara to start at around 31.000 Euro (26.551,50 GBP), which is similar to a BYD Atto 2 and around 5,5k less than an Opel Mokka Electric (36.740€) or a Ford Puma Gen-e (36.900€, with an official discount included 35.055€).

It would have saved a lot of time if Nicola has come on wearing an “I Love The Ford Puma” t shirt and pointed to the Suzuki and said “I don’t like it” 10 second video job done.

It might have been fairer if the £1100 cost of the Puma sunroof was mentioned. According to Ford I Puma’s boot is bigger than the Enyaq and ID7 , I dout it.
