The Q6 e-tron is an important car for numerous reasons, but generally since it's the first cars and truck to get all the mechanical and electrical bits that will underpin great deals of chic Audis and Porsches in the future. So it needs to be actually, truly good.

More effective, single motor designs with rear-wheel drive and a bit less power will follow late in the year, and appear highly likely to eke that variety as much as over 400 miles.

That's not ground-breaking, however it is really good, and Audi claims that the Q6 e-tron is some 30% more efficient than its other electrical designs thanks to aerodynamic fettling, weight-saving gains made by using new, smaller sized electrical motors, and more effective brake recuperation that now collects more energy whenever you brake.
