New Tavascan: everything we understand.

Cupra has actually revealed its 2nd completely electric design after the Born, and it's an SUV coupé in the style of the Volkswagen ID.5 and fastback Skoda Enyaq. The new Tavascan utilizes the exact same foundations as its sis vehicles too, with a single or twin motor options and a range of approximately 321 miles from a 77kWh battery pack
.
At 4,644 mm long, the Tavascan is somewhat longer than a Volkswagen ID.4 but partially much shorter than the very popular Tesla Model Y
.
It has a much sportier appearance than either though, reflecting the brand's location inside the VW Group. Particularly intriguing are the three-triangle 'eyes' in the headlamps and a refined black A-pillar connecting the windshield to the side glass, which is indicated to appear like a racing chauffeur's helmet visor.

Cupra has also given us our closest look yet of its UrbanRebel little vehicle. Arranged for launch in 2025, it will be based on the exact same cut-down MEB platform as the new Volkswagen ID.2 and Škoda Small– both of which will get to the exact same time.

Join Tom, Nicki and Tomi as they gatecrash the CUPRA launch event, provide the realities you require and provide the Electrifying.com verdict. What do you think about the new CUPRA designs? Will they be on your shortlist? Let is understand in the remarks below.

Quite aggressive and bold design on both cars, not just outside but inside too. Probably not for everyone, but definitely nice to see they take some risks.

I think the ID2 looks much better than the Urban Rebel. But the urban rebel is definitely the more interesting to look at.

Love the look of the Urban Rebel, just a shame we have to wait so long. No knowing what else might be out by then to steal its thunder.

    £40k-£50k…?
I think that’s going to be starting at mid-£50k all day long, guys…!
    Crazily expensive.

Yeah, in stead of building EV’s that the masses can afford, they keep producing an endless line of €50k+ stuff.
In 2015, the average new price for a car in the Netherlands was €24.000. In 2023 that average price sky rocketed to €45.000. This Cupra wount help.
Since my first car in 1973, we were always able to buy a small A segment new car. That normally would be somewhere in the range of half your years salary.
Now, the average new price is way more then our year salary.

Q: can we get smaller wheels? 19″+ would a very limited choice and only suits people trying to pretend this really is an actual sports car

Both are far more interesting than their VW equivalents. Please can we get them in the UK before 2025.

Cupra killing it with the styling, damn shame it’s based on the inferior now old vw meb platform. 🤔
I wonder if the ones built on the meb+from 2025, coming out of Spain might make it here to the U.S.

Hmmm. ID2 versus Urban Rebel. ARE YOU KIDDING! 😂 Urban Rebel. If for no other reason than that interior! THAT is cutting edge styling. ❤

Urban Rebel is trying waaaaay too hard.

I’d like to see the Tavascan in other colours, but it manages to pull off the SUCoupe look far better than anyone else.
