2026 Peugeot E-308 review: finally a class leader?

The Peugeot E-308 is back with a subtle facelift and a lot of new kit. But has the facelift repaired the flaws of the initial? Sign up with Nicola as she gets behind the wheel to find out whether Peugeot's electrical family hatch has finally stepped up to the top of the class … or if it's still playing catch-up.
Nicola checks out how much the real-world variety has enhanced and whether the updated powertrain finally provides the efficiency the initial design did not have. She likewise puts the E-308's charging efficiency to the test to see if it can keep pace with crucial rivals. Out on the road, she digs into the ride and handling, in addition to the overall refinement, to identify if Peugeot has sharpened the driving experience.
Inside, the video takes a close look at the tech updates and interior revisions, including whether the infotainment and cabin quality now feel genuinely exceptional. And obviously, Nicola tackles the critical concern of value for cash, does the facelifted E-308 use the ability and polish needed to become a real class-leader?

This woman is an asset to the channel. She’s funny and actually knows a fair bit about cars. Back to the car itself: I think the facelift is well done, but the interior really should’ve received a completely new design.

Peugeot’s biggest problem is that they always ask too much for their vehicles. With the competition from China nowadays, I’d skip this one and go for a LEAPMOTOR B10 instead. It’s cheaper, better finished, offers more space, and uses fewer cheap plastic materials (Also being sold by Stellantis).

I cannot get over how wrong you are. Its the opposite my friend. You clearly havnt been to a Peugeot dealership lately

@gbtivbay The only one who’s completely wrong here is you. The recommended prices are simply too high, and the fact that you’ve convinced yourself otherwise doesn’t change anything. You don’t need to visit a dealership to know what the prices are for a new model. You’re living in a fantasy. Peugeot charges too much for their cars.

Remember the crayons that you used in school? Is that a blue/green or a green/blue ? It makes all the difference 😂

Added to my shortlist. Love a Peugeot ! Have 2 of `em…. Need to decide between a GT and SW mind as one of my other cars is a (diesel) estate and will have to choose between my E208 and the estate. Time to choose a simpler option? Gotta look at the cost of mileage at 3p a mile…

It’s a decent update. Not sure the lovely Nicola fully grasps what a facelift is 🤔🤣.

It’s got wheels like mine where every day you try and get the pattern to line up on each side and get irked when it doesn’t 🤣🤣

I’d love to see a GTi similar to the e208 GTi

A volume dial and a few buttons – well done and clearly, despite what one of their presenters claimed recently, it is possible to find manufacturers doing the right thing (Kia too). Without those two basics, I would immediately ignore the rest of the car and that’ll be true no matter what year it is. I would certainly go for the estate, cars fine but not exceptional but I’d be happy with this I think.

its a quite massive facelift, idk what would you expect from a facelift 🤨🤷‍♂
…id even prefer if they did less and at least kept the fangs.

Great review 👏. We had a 2022 SW PHEV. Having had the hatch for a few weeks before the estate came. Only real issue was poor traction.

    Love the small steering wheel

just buy the estate. The longer wheelbase improves the rear seat space and ride. Rear visibility is better too.

If the EV had been cheaper and had a bigger battery we might have gone for one instead of an ID7 GTX Tourer.

Dropping down from the VWs 340 bhp to the Peugeot’s 156 might be a wrench.

I saw a 508 in that colour and i have to say it looks like it would be the MOST satisfying colour to polish. I like it so much I would genuinely buy a Peugeot just because of that paint

This is exactly how a facelift works. I still prefer the Astra or eC4X. They look less fussy, and are likely to be better value.

I am not interested into Peugeot 308, neither in electric cars, neither in the green color, yet I still watch because of Nicola. Thanks for all the fun!
