    I wish this was available in the US! I prefer VW’s styling to Tesla’s and the Chinese brands (though granted, those aren’t available here either.)

      Americans instantly start whining about the range which makes VW nervous. I’m not sure how Americans can consider staying jammed in their seats longer than 6 hours is a “road trip”. How about get out and take in some scenery, fresh air, leg stretching, whilst the battery tops up in 20-30 minutes. Europeans make stopping for 1 hour every 3 a necessity. Even the 2.5 tonne ID. BUZZ SWB will do a 6 hours cruise.

    It’s the ID Golf, but they didn’t want to affect their current Golf sales.

      Im thinking they are saving the ID.Golf brand for a complete redesign. We will probably get one later.

      @jonekone3769 yeah they are waiting for the next gen platform, don’t want to spoil the golf’s iconic name with something not worthy

      @jonekone3769 Indeed. They will change the name to Golf when they introduce the SSP platform in 2029-2030

    Nice to see they’ve changed the screen design, it no longer looks like it was designed by Fisher-Price.

      it looks really bad, because it is very dark, like interior

      The big chunky bezel has an advantage. The easiest way to change it while driving is put your hand on the bezel and use your thumb to press the buttons. The new one does not look strong enough for that.

      @Electrifyingcom Yes, because most of the world uses the metric system. It’s really only the USA and the UK who still use miles.

    Always been a fan of the I.D3 exterior design, although I kinda of prefer the original I.D3 exterior to the more subtle Neo, finally with these updates (especially inside) it should be a great car.

    I wish Canada would get the ID.3. I also wish we’d get the MG Cyberster.

    1. @paulb1951 Avatar
      @paulb1951

      Cyberster is one of the very few EV’s I’ve never seen on the road. Have them in our market, but they do not sell. Must be a reason for that, as see Porsche EV’s humming around.

    Let’s be honest, that’s very clearly the ID.Golf, just look at that backend. They just weren’t brave enough to give it the Golf name.

    1. @matthewr1990 Avatar
      @matthewr1990

      There is an ID. Golf coming within a few years. I think I agree with VW here keeping this the ID.3 because if the first ID.Golf was just a facelift of the ID.3 everyone would go nuts. Also based on how the ID.Polo looks and its dimensions I do think the ID.Golf will actually look a lot more like a golf. Once that’s does come out they will phase out the ID.3.

    4. @jonathanwebb8307 Avatar
      @jonathanwebb8307

      The ID names were daft when they had established markets under the old names Polo Golf etc. They should have just called it the Golf E or similar. I always had the feeling in the beginning they didn’t really want to sell them. hen I was buying there was only ever petrol cars on display inside the dealers and the salesmen where totally disinterested as soon as you said EV. Now they sell more EVs than ICE I hope that has changed.

    I asked VW about roof rack, still no roof rack allowed as per the older model that I have, whereas the ID Polo can… VW cocked up there.

    Good review, I’m surprised it’s taken so long for a review though, there’s been one on show at our local VW dealer for a few weeks (I spotted it when we took our ID3 in for a checkup).

      Never bought any VW with less…it is just a matter of negotiating with the dealer.
      My ID Buzz got 5 years, the ID7 even 7 years warranty.

    At one point I felt one-pedal driving was a deal breaker but I now have a 2022 Kona which doesn’t have one pedal as such…level 3 regen almost brings the car to a stop but pulling on the left paddle behind the steering wheel brings the car to the most gentle stop I have ever experienced!

    Ours came in last week. The 58kWh version in this blue. Already done almost 1000miles with it. It drives wonderfully. Easily the best driving car I’ve ever owned.

    We have the Neo for a month now and we have already driven it over 4000km. It‘s perfekt for everyday use, it even fits my road bike behind the back seats with the front wheel removed and a second bike in the back next to our luggage. We discuss every day who gets to use it. We opt for the ID Tiguan as the successor to our VW Golf Variant as well.

    Extraordinary that the top spec is 40k GBP. That’s $76k AUD. In a car market like Australia where we have no tariffs on Chinese EVs that’s never going to fly. You could but a performance AWD Zeekr 7X for that.

    I’ve leased the last 2 generations and likely lease the Neo too. The lease prices are always very competitive, and the cars are very spacious.
