Toyota Hilux Dakar v GR Land Cruiser: DRAG RACE

We've coordinated with & , and they have actually brought their Hilux to go up against Mat in a GR Sport!

So let's see how these two epic competitors accumulate. Beginning with the , it's powered by a 3.5-litre twin-turbo V6 that can put down 415hp and 650Nm of torque. Power's delivered to all 4 wheels by a 10-speed automated gearbox, and it's quite heavy, tipping the scales at 2,630 kg!

And after that we have the Dakar Hilux. It's likewise geared up with a 3.5-litre twin-turbo V6, but the power output has been restricted to 361hp and 650Nm. However, it's much lighter than the Land Cruiser, weighing in at 2,000 kg.

      @Ribak Silak still a beautiful piece of engineering. Someone still had to design and build it. Besides the Toyota Engine is still mostly factory and even had its power lowered. But the pairing of that soundtrack and the wonderful engineering of that race vehicle; space frame and all. Personally I don’t care it doesn’t have original Toyota road car parts, as those are designed for the general consumers, not the punishment of desert racing at autobahn speeds in some sections.

      ​@jai brown If the Rimac hooks its game over. The quarter miles are similar but the Demon170 was on a prepped surface so I think it’ll lose. Would be an awesome race though, if Mat can do it he should.

      @Homies3710 The Dakar is designed for sand and the Land Cruiser is not so it’s understandable. If the Land Cruiser was on sand, especially with its road tyres, it would have been absolutely destroyed by the Dakar and would have most likely been damaged

      Drones can accelerate much faster and go above 100kmh, they also have zoom cameras so no matter if they are far back, they will still get a nice shot from behind
