Luca De Meo is doing wonders, you just have to see what he done with SEAT in the 2010’s and the spin out of Cupra which is VWAGs most profitable out of their “normal” cars.

the normal 5 EV looks very ugly, too tall and inflated (probably to accommodate the batteries but still…)

I adore your beautiful build-up. Winding through all these lovely Renault models had to be so enticing! I’m dehydrated now…from all the drooling I did!
This is what modern tech CAN do if it tries.
These EVs have all the fun of a full-sized Scalextric. When I was a kid, I enjoyed imagining driving one of them.
Now…all the young modern can actually do this if they like!
Mind you, in their shoes, I’d have to the leave phone at home and fling out the car’s SIM card to keep Google, Amazon, and Microsoft away from my driving experience, though. 😆🤣
I’m on tenterhooks in anticipation of your hands-on review! Aloha!

As you said Great walk through and presentation by Ped- the Blue Turbo Maxi was one of the standout cars from my youth ( magazine articles etc)- a full size Tamiya RC car or me!! retro but cutting edge ( Hub motors must be a first on a production car?)? Can’t wait to see them hit the road in shocking colours!!

@@orbytl2799 I have to agree. There is nothing sadder than watching a Tesla floor it off the line. The EV just doesn’t excite in the same way as a petrol engined car. They are pure utility, cheap motoring while the charging prices stay below that of a tank of fuel.

Hi Peter. It’s a good car for sure, and an interesting idea. Rather pricey though. BUT calling a car a “turbo” without an actual turbocharger is just wrong. Call it a “T”or something, that would be all right. A road test when it is available, please!

Whilst it’s a real show stopper, we will never see one on the road…. Back in the 80’s we actually saw Turbo 1 and Turbo 2’s…. Now the super rich will buy up the Turbo 3E’s limited production run and put them in glass cases in theur houses.
It would be super easy to produce a far cheaper R5T. 400bhp and 500bhp EVs are available for £40 to £60k….. Absolutely no need for £150,000 limited run toys.

The problem is the World. The UK makes very few cars, so most are imported. We get what manufacturers bring to us. Companies like Renault, VW and Hyundai are moving to EV only. Sales of diesel cars have dropped to only 5.5%. Nissan and Ford are struggling to keep up with the competition from China. The market is dictated to Us, the consumer.
