Appears like we are going to have combustions engined Porsches awhile longer than we thought with Porsche announcing they are going to be investing $830,000 in combustion and plug-in hybrid . Could this conserve the 718 Boxster and Cayman?

      ​@@PetrolPed I remember being online one UK morning when Ped had just uploaded a video at an unusual time – cos he was in Japan at the time. I could have been first to comment but declined but did not know back then about Leader Of The Pack and Magnificent Seven.     Yes, what Garry said, thanks for putting all the effort in. We do appreciate it. So many manufacturers are getting spanked in the full EV market, I can’t see them as the mainstream money maker. Hybrids will take over.

    It’s interesting, but the problem with the current Boxster/Cayman is that doesn’t meet the new cyber security regulations (at least as far as I know), and so which platform will house those newly developed full combustion and hybrid powertrains? I’d be very surprised if the EV platform can be adapted to suit. Time will tell. More likely it will be the Cayenne which will have a shared or parallel platform which allow full BEV, hybrid and pure combustion powertrains in the run up to the 2030 pure combustion ban, and 2035 hybrid ban. Maybe the Macan is feasible, but I’m sceptical. Panamera is a bit pointless as the EV version of that really is the Taycan so it’s already set up this way. What this development won’t do is bring back the customers in China though so I’m curious who it is aimed at…

    Just keep reviewing & driving all sorts of new car’s pete I’m a petrol head but still try & keep updated with what’s going on in the world of car’s any shape or form as i know EV’S won’t fully work as yet for many reasons but still want to continue to understand how the future will be!!😬🤷🏼‍♂️ Anyway just keep doing what you doing pete great content as usual!!👌🏻👍🏻
