New Urus Performante v Regular Urus: DRAG RACE

Is the brand new Performante really that much better than a routine ? It's time to learn!

For starters, let's take a look at the statistics. The routine Urus rolls up with a 4-litre twin-turbo V8 under the bonnet which can put down 650hp and 850Nm of torque. It's equipped with 4-wheel drive and weighs in at 2,199 kg.

As for the Urus Performante, it's packing the same engine under the bonnet, although the power output has been increased slightly to 666hp! The weight has actually also minimized slightly, to 2,150 kg. However, while it's down in weight, it's up in rate, with the expense increasing from ₤ 165,000 to ₤ 209,000!

What's more, Mark's edition has been packed full of choices, so it costs an eye-watering ₤ 288,000!! So is it worth it? There's only one method to find out … LET'S RACE!

Seems like good way to throw out 120k out of the window for basically nothing. I gotta applaud Lamborghini, not everyone manage to get away with this 🙂

or maybe see if something has been done to the standard Urus, it could have an ECU tune.. at least I hope for the Performante’s sake

Numbers are so close that you could make up the weight difference with petrol. Who knows. Why would they make the Hurican performante so much better but not this?

You should have a rear camera covering all the vehicles on the brake tests to see which vehicle brake lights comes on at what point. Looks like others brake sooner than Matt does.

    1. Jared Hodge Avatar
      Jared Hodge

@Denis Deari That is what I mean, a camera view showing all the cars from behind in one shot. See if brake lights come on before the line or at the line etc.

they should disregard being leveled for the brake test, it’s redundant. They should just put cruise control at 100mph and brake at the line. Should make things fairer and easier for the drivers. Also, for the drag race they should use lights…less ambiguity as to when to actually start

    4. Anthony Avatar
      Anthony

@Denis Deari I think they should just use their brake test gear that they use in car reviews besides the brake test. That way we know the actual result too. Small investment for such a big company and channel

60k in Options has to weigh something especially massaging seats. Doubt it’s any lighter than the regular. Thanks for all the great content.

Something has to be wrong with the Performante… I’ve seen some accelaration runs with a proper working Urus Performante and it did 7.6s 60-120mph

I watch your videos everyday with enthusiasm as they show how engineering has advanced enormously over the years.

I do worry about modern car interiors with cockpits resembling those that can be found in light aircraft or in a helicopter, and probably costing the same price, as shown in this video.

Fortunately, I’m retired now and only drive around 2000 miles a year. I have a 2009 Mazda 3 bought in 2011 with now 175,000 plus miles on the the clock. It cost me £9,349.00 2nd hand then. I’ve just realised this price was cheaper than the first three items on the video accessories list for the Urus Performante. It has recently passed its MOT and anything the Mazda dealer states it requires, it gets! I’m still very pleased with the car!

Would the owner of the Urus Performante be better suited to a helicopter to get himself around? Or, am I just being jealous?

The question I have is, are all of those optional extras on the Performanté actually making it weigh just as much (or more than)as the original urus. Maybe the 50kg difference is on the base model of the Performanté. 🤷‍♂️🧐

In the spirit of saving weight. They even skiped the L on the Heat REFECTIVE Windscreen. 😁

Gotta be honest. I’m actually kinda surprised they didn’t charge anything for the rear lambo logo. That would probably have been a 300 pund option on a Ferrari. 😆

Was the fuel the same? Also consider that brand new cars need a bit of mileage to fully unlock the engine’s power
