NEW Skoda Enyaq – Can it be even better than the last Enyaq ?

The Skoda is among the very best selling EVs and an extremely important vehicle for Skoda. Can a facelift make it even much better? I spent a week with the to find out.

Here is my studio walk around from previously this year …

Showed this video to my boyfriend and now he’s sure he can do it again too. I’m terrified, but it’s going to be fun💚

There is no way a 2 tonne car with rear drums can stop as well in an emergency. VW group cheaping out again, only this time it’s gambling with safety

Yes it can , I’ve had the Cupra Born for 3 years and the brakes work just a good

You do realise the majority of the braking is done via the front brakes 🤔

The rear discs on our Ioniq 5 are hardly used, such is the power of regen braking. There’s absolutely no need for rear discs on a rear motor EV.

@@johnnodge4327How many emergency stops have you done? You can’t cheat physics, drum brakes are not as capable of slowing 2 tonnes of SUV in an emergency

Stops a metre shorter 60-0 than the disc break equipped Model Y

I love the Race Blue. I used to have an Octavia in Race Blue. I changed it to Gray, and it’s harder to keep clean. Shows the dust terribly.

I like Skoda having owned three models. The main problem with any electric is the infrastructure and public charging cost.

If you are in Wales, well yes the infrastructure is not great. If you are in Scotland, a whole different story. Scottish Government started rolling out their own network 12 years ago. They have 3,400 or so Chargeplace Scotland chargers, that only cost 35p per KWh. There are many thousands of other chargers from Ionity, Tesla etc.

It does look niceer than the old one. Skoda are what VW should always have been. Practical, competent with clever design features. Like you said, never going to set your pants on fire but just enough performance to not be too dull.

I have a model year 24 Enyaq Coupe Edition 85 on standard 19” wheels. I prefer these for the improved ride quality.

80% charge is giving me a little over 300 miles at the moment. Mine has a heat pump and through the winter I’d get about 270 miles on 80% charge.

My car was a second-hand former Skoda staff car bought with 8500 miles, and less than £34k from a main dealer. Model year 24 included drivetrain updates that are the same as the 2025 refresh but obviously without the facelift.

Absolutely loving the car after six months. Another family member bought an Enyaq SUV after a single ride in mine!

I use home 7kW charging. The discount being second-hand plus overnight charging is giving me a lot for the money. It wasn’t much more than a reasonable mid-size petrol car but with a much more upmarket experience and power: I’ve not had 280+hp before, so it’s a pleasant surprise and is really easy to drive and live with.

Waiting for my 85x Sportline Coupe to arrive. Went for the 20in wheels for more range and ride quality. Pleased that you like the car. Hopefully, the wait will be worthwhile.

Same! When did you order and in what colour? I ordered March 5th and my build week was Week 18 so I’m expecting a delivery date any time now.

Like you said Pedro, electric cars are not for everyone. A got a Vauxhall mokka ev two years ago , it costs me £20 to do a thousand miles, if that doesn’t change peoples minds nothing will . I will never go back to an ice vehicle again . By the way, another brill video mate 🎉🎉

Only achievable with home charging on overnight off peak which is not available for the majority of UK populus. Until available for the masses the EV mandate will never be achieved.

Thanks for this one. I remember when the first Enyaq launched in 2020. I considered getting one but went for a BMW 330e M Sport instead. I’m now running a Tesla model 3 and I love it. Just driven to Scotland and back in 3 days and it was a breeze, Tesla super chargers are amazing. I like the look of this one. Looks like a lovely car.

I have an 85x Sportline in Meteor Grey (Steel Grey in Europe) on order, I’m SO excited for my first EV! I’ve been checking YouTube daily for reviews and yours is the first I’ve seen in the UK – this makes me think they’re beginning to arrive at the port, and i should take delivery of mine any day now 🤞🏻

We’ve had an Enyaq 85x Sportline SUV as the family wagon for a year now and it’s great. Comfortable, practical, quick and good range (even in winter).

We looked at, and test drove, the Enyaq and Elroq last week. We decided to order the Elroq Edition 85 in Timiano Green. In the end we decided that the boot in the Elroq was big enough for us so there wasn’t much point having the larger Enyaq. I have a theory that we simply fill up the boot of the car we have regardless of the size.

What I have noticed is Skoda kept the line of physical buttons in the order they are on LHD versions so the drive Mode switch is a little bit further away from the driver in RHD cars than you’d expect.
