      Cheap gas here in the US allows us to drive big large powerful fuel inefficient cars, SUVs, trucks, and bigVan’s. We have looser emissions and regulations allowing us to building ridiculous amount of HP from big engines and ect. I like European cars but I prefer American cars for sound and experience and not for status.

      There’s plenty of awesome cars in the UK like Aston Martin, Jaguar, Bentley, and ect. However, We have the 2020 Shelby GT500, C8 Z06, Dodge charger Hellcat redeye, 2018 Dodge Challenger demon, SSC Ultimate Aero, Hennessy F5 venom, Ultimate Tuatara, Saleen S7, 2022 Cadillac CT5-V blackwing, C7 ZR1, C8 stingray, C7 Z06, 2018 Chevy Camaro ZL1 1LE, 2017 Cadillac CTS-V, 2022 Cadillac CT4-V blackwing, 2016 Dodge Viper ACR, 2017 Ford GT, and 2016 Shelby GT350R. We have plenty as well. American cars have come a long way in terms of performance and handling even interior too. The new Cadillac Escalade gas the interior of a European car now. I respect all cars regardless of their origin.

      @B H It gets it’s claimed bhp numbers when fueled with E85 fuel. On premium fuel it has 900 bhp.

      These cars Dig race Very, very well.. especially with some MTs on.

      You can feel any cars power if you know how to drive it properly.

      @Timothy Duncan Sure they do, any car with 800+ bhp will dig race relatively well. What I’m saying is that I’ve yet to see a stock Demon do a 2.3 second 0-60 on an unprepped surface. I’m not saying they’re not fast, I’m saying the claimed numbers aren’t really representative of most situations. I suspect it will be the same story with the 170.

    Note the surface! Dodge was using a prepped surface which is so sticky you’d lose your shoes if you stepped on it. No way it could do that on a normal surface. I’d like to see the McMurtry on the prepped surface.

      @FindValdo Actually you barely loose any power from battery level until around 30% and when in drag strip mode, the car heats the battery to the optimal temperature.

      Yes but the Bugatti was the *fastest* production car at the time.

      These modern 1000hp cars are basically the *quickest* production cars.

      Bugatti’s focus was on top speed. Other companies focused on acceleration.

    That dragstrip looks extremely prepared just before the launch of the demon 170, I bet it would be too sticky that one could literally get stuck over that place. But at the end of the day it’s a great record done by demon 170.

      Well, it’s front engine layout with rwd plus it’s not AWD or mid or rear engine configuration layout like the Turbo S or Bugatti chiron.

      Quarter mile is the quarter mile it doesn’t matter if it’s prep surface or not. I understand that many are European here and probably just salty that this type of specs is coming out of a production American car. It’s sad. Remember, drivetrain and engine placement configuration matters alot especially in handling.

    Note that the 1025 HP comes from using E85 fuel. Which, in the US, you can find at a number of pump across the US or buy some and store it at home. This is way better than the last Demon where you HAD to take the car to a dealership for them to swap the ECU then actually get some high octane race fuel thats not easy to find. Using regular pump gas and it drops to 900 HP. Dodge is doing a awesome last call for their ICE Chargers/Challengers but unless you are running drag radials all the time and in warm, dry weather then you’re never going to be able to put that power down on the road.

    Still would be nice to own one and then wait 10 years and flip it for a huge profit like the original Demon has done.
