MID-WEEK 180 – Back from the Ring – 918 Spyder crash could prove expensive !

How fast have you been on the Autobahn?

Well I am safely back from our trip to the Ring. Numerous stories and so much fantastic material to show you. Firstly Joe and Misha are OK after their crash. While we were taping the podcast we had an amazing thing occur that we didn't think was true however the next day we understood it was!

    Evening All Peddlers,
    I don’t think an Autoban style of road here in the uk would work – lane discipline as you mentioned – and there are far too many idiots on the road who don’t know how to drive fast and safely as they don’t look far enough ahead.

    I got to 250kph in a Boxster a few years ago – thought 250 was enough, glad when I reached that, even though lane discipline is amazing there are plenty of things that can go wrong. Would a similar network of derestricted roads work jn the UK? Definitely NOT unfortunately. UK road manners are the worst in Europe.

    Very much looking forward to the Ring content as we’re just preparing for our own GP trip next week. And autobahn Vmax of an indicated 161mph back in 2019. Not sure I want to repeat that. 😂

    I’d buy merch but I’m still stuck here in Belarus matey! 😂 I generally cruise the autobahn at around 160Kmh… Sadly that’s not so easy now! 👌

    Great places to drive in Britain, Wales, Scotland and Ireland. Even parts of England have their good points once avoided motorways 😊

    Been round the Ring a few times… I might have said before… But it is worth saying again… F1 Merc Safety car…. 1 Lap with Bernd Schneider behind the wheel…. Approaching the first corner (We started near the Race Circuit, there were a few drivers giving rides to Mercedes personnel) he said “The brakes are sh1t” so he just chucked it sideways…… THE Best event in my Life…… :-)) ps: there is a BMW Garage in the Village with lots of Racing Kit….. :-)))

    Fastest Autobahn run -> F57 Mini Cooper S convertible, tuned to 295hp…..maxed out into the rev limiter at 250km/h
