It's time for another all-American showdown!
We've got our hands on a 2006 Ford GT, and it's facing off against a 1992 initial Dodge Viper! The question is, which of these all-American legends will cross the finish line first?
Well for starters, let's have a look at the statistics. Mat's lining up in the Ford GT, and it's powered by a 5.4-litre supercharged V8. This can deliver 560hp & 680Nm of torque, and power is sent out to the rear wheels just by means of a 6-speed handbook gearbox. It's the heaviest cars and truck here, mind, tipping the scales at 1,580 kg.
Next up we have the Dodge Viper. It's a pre-production design of the very first generation Viper, but it's still loading an 8-litre naturally-aspirated V10 that can put down 400hp and 630Nm! This power is sent to the rear wheels only via a 6-speed manual, and it's likewise a fair bit lighter than the GT, weighing in at 1,490 kg.
So the Ford is up on power, however the Viper has the weight advantage! But will the GT's extra power prove definitive? There's just one way to find out … LET'S RACE!
