Just how much quicker is gas than diesel?

Well to find out, we've got our hands on the most powerful fuel & diesel X7s to see just how various they actually are! So let's take a look at the statistics …

Starting with the M50d, it's packing a 3-litre straight-six diesel under the bonnet that can produce 400hp and 760Nm of torque. Power is sent out to all four wheels via an 8-speed automated transmission, and it pointers the scales at 2,460 kg. If you're seeking to pick one of these up now, it'll cost around ₤ 88,000.

Then we have the . It's real estate an enormous 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 under the bonnet, and this can put down 530hp and 750Nm. It's a fair bit heavier than the M50d, coming in at 2,675 kg, and it's also a lot more costly, costing around ₤ 130,000!

      As a Bimmer guy myself, I am sad to say that both looks horrible, but the older one looks comparitively better than the latest one. I seriously have no idea what BMW designers are doing.

    So the M60i is £130k but he got it second hand for £100k and it’s on 23 reg plate. Feel sorry for the first owner who lost £30k in less than a year🤦‍♂️ .

      Could’ve been a dealership, where the loss was artificial anyhow, they wrote it off and got a kickback from BMW. It’s the second owner after the dealer who most likely will incur the most losses.

    Would be interesting to see the most powerful petrol i6 in this as well. I’m guessing that would be the 40i but with the V8 now being 60i instead of 50i the 3.0 petrol may now be a 50i. Not sure either way would be interesting to see how much slower the 3.0 petrol would be against the 3.0 diesel
